New site? Maybe some day.

On behalf of Terence and Seth, we'd like to thank everyone for turning out and buying some tickets to the Cryptopsy show last night, because it was our last set ever. There's really no one single cause to why this happened, more or less several different factors, we came to the decision on Thursday night that Cryptopsy will be the last show. Seth most likely will be doing Hekseri. Not sure if Terence will pursue anything in the immediate future. I myself am looking for another full time band since Abhorred doesn't want to tour or play local shows anymore. This decision was made for the better. It's a relief that's over, it felt things were terminally doomed for a bit, I'm just happy that we could walk away with no bad intentions or hard feelings. Thanks to everyone who has supported Ascendancy throughout the past 5 years. It means alot to us and you will not be forgotten.
I hope ya'll hate me for this,
"Battle hymns did sound the call
You came to our side
You heard true metal
into glory ride
You stood beside us the false ones
Cried Your love is judgment.
You gave us life
You wait in the rain-you walk
Through the snow.
We give you Our blood.
We want you to know
In our eyes you immortal
In our hearts you'll live forever
In our eyes you immortal
In our hearts you'll live forever" - Manowar

wow dudes, that sux! hope everyhting works for everyone and you all keep something going with other projects... what's your e-mail adress man? |

This sucks! I'm lucky I was there for the last set.
I am really happy that I got to play with you guys as often as I did while you were still around.
1st Ascendancy now Abhorred doesn't want to tour OR play local shows anymore? What shows will they play then? |
yeah why isn't Abhorred doing shows anymore, wtf is that shit. i demand answers ! |
manowar rules!!!!! I will admit it. |
Abhorred doesn't want to spend money to tour, they would like to play with more national bands locally, please make up another thread about this please if it hurts your feelings alot. |
Im glad i got to se the last show, even though that sucks, good luck guys. |

hehe, well there's May 9th with us and Cephalic -
but why not set up a tour this summer to support the record? It's expensive but it's all a matter of paying dues so that a band can move on from playing local shows only with other locals to playing local shows with nationals to becoming a national themselves.
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. sorry to see you guys go. good luck to everyone in their endeavors. ascendancy will go down in the local metal books as legends. |
Damn, did I guess it in the other thread or what?!
I was kinda kidding, wow.
Maybe Seth will join TERATISM if Nel leaves.
FUCK NO, you guys can't break up this is bullshit! stop being dicks and get back together, you guys are the best thing around here, god damnit i'm pissed! |

that's a damn shame. you guys rocked, and your drummer is a fucking maniac. |
I tried my hardest to make it up to Manchester, but no one wanted to go/didn't have the cash. This is one of those times where not having a vehicle really pains me. I'm sorry I wasn't able to make your last show.
Terence, Seth, and Jawsh -- you guys were excellent and I only saw it getting better. This is very unfortunate. I'm glad though, to have been able to play with you guys and see you tons of times.
faaaahkkkkk! there goes another awesome massachusetts band. good luck to everyone with their future projects. |
josh got a little carried away/misunderstood what we were talking about.
we will definantly be playing more local shows. we already have a bunch lined up. we just won't be playing every weekend like we used to. less shows = more time to write new songs... |
wow this is shitty news, best of luck with future endevours |

Damnit, they should have let you guys play longer at the Bombshelter. That was my first time seeing Ascendancy and I was fucking blown away. |
I only got to see you guys once, but it was awesome. hails!
Man I remember seein Ascendancy as a 2 piece ,just Terence and Seth,And thinking at the time, If only they had a full band this would be sick!,You all are one of the nicest bands I have ever met,And I wish you all luck in the future,And I am so glad I could help make your last show a memorable one . |
also not 100% sure on this but i just found it weird that i heard it in the same weekend, a lil bird told me that As Long As Were All Living, We're All Dying is no more too.
weird what's happening around here. |
I'm pretty bummin', myself. As one of Hekseri, I'd rather not start flappin' my lips on here. However anyone who knows me knows what I think of Ascendancy.
HOWEVER, for those who DO NOT:
Ascendancy, for me, are like Nile, Slayer, and Brodequin rolled into one entity. A maelstrom, a fit of brutality laced with technicality (without being too wonky with scales and overdone pinch harmonic gayness), a reason to have faith in the health of Massachusetts Metal.
Yeah right, Larissa. You missed their last show.
Regrettably, yes. But paganmegan told me it slayed, as usual.
GODDAMNIT, I'M GONNA GET DRUNK NOW AND RAISE MY GLASS IN PRAISE of one of Boston's best metal bands since fuckin' Wargasm. |

To repeat what the people involved said and also told me in e-mail... they're just not playing as much to concentrate on writing stuff. Abhorred WILl be on our show on June 10th. Yeah! |
Oh ok, sorry if that was already said this thread was too long for me to read so I jsut read the main post. |
Good luck to you guys. Ascendancy was always one of my favorites. \m/ |
I hope Terrance does something he's super fast. Good luck to you too Josh, hope you find another full time band. |
I doubt it'll take either of those folks long at all to find something else. |
Asecendancy ruled. Terrence should start another band with Ross, and have it themed around the Garfield Halloween Special. |
Best of luck to you all in the future, I hope to see some really good things from all of you in the future.
RIP |

June 19th at the Middle East:
Ravage
Adolf Satan
Abhorred
Hirudinea
Abhorred last local show ever????
It's good to see all the people who never came out to see Ascendancy acting all broken up about this.
I couldn't make the last show cuz I was down in Philly, but Terence promised me a bedtime solo performance one of these coming hot summer nights. |
Ascendancy were cool dudes. We played with them once and half my band got lost on the way to the show and Ascendancy switched set times with us to give the Einstein twins time to get there.
Thanks dudes. Rock on.
Man, sorry to hear this guys. Good luck with whatever you do! |
It's been good playing with you guys. Sick set on Friday night. Give us a shout when your new projects are ready to go and we'll set something up. |
They were definitely getting better, too bad. Their set at PA's Lounge was pretty good.
Joe and I will set up a kissing booth to raise money to put ABHORRED on the road. Line up, ladies! |
Are you two going to pay the people to kiss them?!

I don't think anyone would pay money to watch you guys kiss each other.
you wouldnt think people would pay 18 bucks for a sub par death metal cd either, but you'd be surprised |

I tried coming up with something witty to say, but I got nothing. |

Seth did. Twice. |

Waouwww! Here is a great death metal release. This self released full length is ripe with hateful old school spirit and sounds without any doubt in the american vein. Ascendancy appear to be at first glance just another brutal death metal act but I think these musicians have much better writing than most of the nowadays death metal acts just cause they keeps moving with an ample amount of rhythm changes. Even at first listen, it appears quite obvious that the music displayed throughout the nine tracks is extremely versatile and there are more innovative surroundings here than you’d ever expect from an american product. The music is very well written and all of the musicians are without any doubt extremely gifted but what really stands out is the interesting variations on the guitar department. «Rise Of A Dead Empire» is an excellent / original album. Don’t waste time…check them out.
