She looks alive to me. My mother is a nurse and she has had to deal with situations where a patient will be completely brain dead with just their body still alive. With the help of respirators and feeding machines the body would live, but the patient is dead in the brain. All that would be left was basically living tissue. In that sort of situation, the plug needs to be pulled, and my mother has had to deal with family members who wanted the machines to be left on to keep the body alive, which is selfish. In these cases, the plug literally just had to be pulled.

This schiavo chick seems very alive, just really really retarded. I think it's insane that starvation is being considered an option by the medical staff to help her situation. I dunno, i guess if the husband has the legal right to make decisions as her caretaker then for now that could be the end of it, not that I know that he does.

In anycase, this whole situation is fucked up and i hope that if she does die, it's as quick and painless as possible. It's annoying to hear democrats and republicans trying to turn this into a politcal argument between each other. god damn politics.

well she is alive. If you dont think slowly starving would be painful for her, i dont see why you would think that keeping her alive could be horrible at all, especially when there is family that is more than willing to take care of her and look after her.

this looks like it'll be one of those things that people will just disagree on. To me it seems we have this woman that's tarded, but she can live, and there's family that wants to take care of her. i think pulling the feeding tube is pretty cruel and i dont see the point. The point would have to be to end her suffering, but from what i know currently, it doesnt seem like she is suffering. she's just retarded.

there are 2 things everyone seems to not know, about this.

1. part of her brain is now liquid, so she can't feel, or have any conscience thought. But the stem of her brain by the spinal cord is ok, so she can breath and her heart pumps, stuff like that.

2. the video images shown of her moving around and making noices are from years ago.
