Man Commits Suicide With Chainsaw

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A man being served an arrest warrant killed himself with a chainsaw in Grand Island.

The Nebraska State Patrol said they went to the man's Grand Island business to serve a federal arrest warrant for felon in possession of a firearm. The man barricaded himself inside the business, and troopers called for backup.

When a SWAT team arrived, they made their way into the business and the man fled to a bathroom carrying a chainsaw. He locked himself in the bathroom and the SWAT team continued negotiations. The team made it into the bathroom and told the man to drop the chainsaw. When he wouldn't, a member of the SWAT team fired a non-lethal round at the man. The man then lowered himself onto the chainsaw, killing himself.

A special prosecutor will be named in the case. Nebraska law requires a grand jury be convened anytime a person dies while in police custody or in the process of apprehension.

wait...that doesn't make sense. They shot him with a "non-lethal" round and then he "lowered himself onto the chainsaw"? Dude, if any of you have ever been hit with a non-lethal round, those fucking things can knock you the hell unconcious, even kill you, despite the name...so that said, why are we to believe that he didn't get whacked and then fall over onto the chainsaw?
