Ok, i went to the LOG, COB and Fear Factory show at the Palladium. well the next day i came to this site and i was reading whatt everyone else thought of the show, and most of the posts were people bitching about kids wearing slipknot shirts. so i have this question; Why do people care what other people wear? Most people i know go to shows to have a good time and watch some bands play, not to see what everyone else is wearing and decide whether their "hardcore" or not. Oh yea, btw the kids in the slipknot shirts were fucking the most shit up in the pit.

no the kids in the slipknot shirts were the retards practicing their pseudo bruce lee moves to impress their gay slipknot-loving friends. I wasnt even there and i can tell you thats exactly what happened.

and i was disgusted when i saw korn and slipknot shirts
but then the kid i was standing next to who was wearing a slipknot shirt asked me who "malignancy" was since i was wearing the t-shirt. so i gave him a list of bands to check out.

i never heard from the kid again but hey who knows --- he could be listening to malignancy right now.

I have a whole new view of Sweeny, now that Ive heard some of the horror stories of being in a band with him.

yeah, he was like a longstreth.. that did drugs, lots and lots of drugs and drinking

but the man was still awesome.

Sweeny tried out for my old band. We never even got around to actually playing with him. He showed up to our house several hours late. Didn't bring any drums with him even though we told him we didn't have a kit for him to use.
We decided to hang out with him, to see if he could at least pass the non-annoying-person test. He couldn't even order a pizza over the phone correctly. He kept changing his mind and recited his order really weirdly so the pizza guy thought he wanted a hamburger, not hamburger on his pizza.
I remember he looked through my cd's and saw a bunch of Malevolent Creation cds that I had gotten for free. He was very impressed with what he thought was my taste in music. He told me how he used to be in Monstrosity (which I later found out was pretty much total bullshit)
We were super desperate for a drummer and he kept saying how good he was so we put up with it. In the end though, he never got it together to bring a kit over and actually play for us. After 6 months of not being able to play shows we ended up begging our old drummer to come back.

A couple months later Sweeny booked Monstrosity at the Middle East. He rented the room out, it wasn't like a regular show. He forgot to tell them that it was a matinee show so they showed up just as the place was shutting down. You'd think if you're going to shell out the cash to rent out the Middle East (and this was downstairs) you'd remember to tell your headliner what time to get there. They were coming from Buffalo, no way they could've made it on time anyways.
We went to the show because Distrust was playing and we wanted to see if Sweeny's playing was as good as he was bragging it was. It wasn't. He didn't suck or anything but from the way he was talking himself up he should've been a cross between Neil Peart and Pete Sandoval. He was just another drummer though.
One of the local bands didn't show up either. Me and Seth thought it would be a good idea to do an Imapled Northern Moonforest show. Sweeny was cool about letting us do that. I ran home and grabbed my acoustic guitar.

Another Sweeny conversation:

Sweeny: I used to live in Lawrence. Lawrence is the arson capital of America.

Me: (laughing) Really? Why did you move?

Sweeny: Someone burned my house down.

(this is extra funny to me because I now live in Lawrence. It's also the insurance fraud capital of America)
