hey, PFAP and us are recording for our split with Shaniqua in the next two weeks. Specifically, we're going into the studio on Friday and PFAP is going in next weekend to record with us at our little studio.

the split is called "Pray For A Taste of Shaniqua"

it will feature "Kill Wilkinson" (previously unreleased / recorded and never played live) + 1-2 other songs by us.
I dunnow what PFAP will put on it yet. Shaniqua sent me some ideas for their stuff today.

pretty good show, really small turnout.

my only question is, what the hell happend to shaniqua? it was more like 'the skullfuckers'...there was no makeup/keytar/jumping around and crazyness, it was like a totally different band. Max wasn't even there!? Did I miss something?

all the bands did well and played their asses off despite the turnout.

I think it was Faith In Chaos, which is a like members of S&TSF doing serious political metal.

Review:

*Pray For A Plague -- Great set...I think Joshua leaving and then coming back added something...like the other 3 members learned to work together more evenly. It sounded good and fun and vicious, but I think they were disatisfied with their performance.

*Within The Fray -- Niiice. Good tech metal, well exectuded. I think they made some fans tonight and were fun to play with. The guitar players are funny dudes.

*The Taste of Silver -- our tightest set? ha ha ha no. But holy shit did anyone else notice Rowan was possessed with AWESOME FEVER?!?!? dude crowd-surfing == 3 high fives!!! killer!!! everyone was so fucking nice, thanks!!!! most crowd rockingest show yet!

*Faith In Chaos -- this was my first time seeing them and their 3rd show. not uber tight but I dug a lot. I like the harmonies on guitar. I know that the Shaniqua dudes are talented and I think this gives them a chance to focus the talent more. Still, the highlight was the shaniqua covers; sorry guys!!!

*Screams of Erina (?) -- This band was very polished and had 3 guitars. I would imagine 3 guitars would mean some cool interplay of guitar work... ... ... but it just meant 3 guitars doing the same thing. This is what I call "Pg 99 syndrome", where a band has extra members that seem to not do much. Still, they had the right idea and if they played the Palladium with FASSW or another Black Market Activities or Victory band they'd score many many rave reviews.

*Hand Choke Neck -- Technical Difficulties, just like us. Still, lots of fun, lots of mosh. Chris is a genius. Play more basement shows and stuff!!! you need a big out of NH fan base to listen to your rock power!!!!

*Life At Zero -- One word. Tour. Two words: Tour, assholes!!! A great band. Why the fuck are they only playing NH, too?!?! HCN, LAZ, and Porphyria are three GREAT NH bands that don't get shit for broad attention and deserve it. LAZ should tour and show off their skills. Fuck work, guys...do the right thing and dominate with your technical prowess. Mad props to Andy for doing that sick song with the tremolo bar that I like.

I think screams of erida had 2 members too many for the type of music they played.. I would much rather play at a legion or hall..I dont think I will ever go back to the bomb shelter again..
p.f.a.p.- we were awful.
within the fray- I thought some parts were okay..these guys sound a lot like the red chord at times..not a bad thing.
t.o.s-great set even without 2 cabs..I dont think nick will be going back to the bomb shelter any time soon.
faith in shaniqua-f.i.c.- was really fucking cool kinda like misery index meets at the gates. shaniqua-a little too short for my liking but pee on your face was amazing.!!

Bands were great, cool people, I had a bad cord(wtf, it worked fine 2 days ago), and it fucked up my set. other than that, there was some drama within HCN for some reason, and whatever, all is good, cuz I forget to give a fuck about people raggin their pussies.

And as far as bands getting paid, that is another reason i was pissed ,cause it was a 50-50 door split i had made the deal with serge so i could pay the bands but the door man did not understand that it was supposed to be a $10 charge at the door, instead he was charging $5 over/$10 under and 21+ ladies were free, so the door did shit.. and in the moments that followed after getting yelled at I went outside and screamed about not doin another show there, but I bet i will,just not for a while.

Bands were all good, turnout bad. Also quite disheartening when the few people that were there mostly left before we played -- it kind of sucks to go on at 1am, more sucky to play for 10 people. Thanks to everyone who stuck around, thanks for the good review TOC (maybe someday we'll do a mini-tour, but I have this pesky mortgage to pay), and thanks to Kok and Todd for getting us on a show. Swear to Satan, kiddies!

our new songs have much more guitar work in them...we won't have them ready to play out until december or so though... :(
