I'm in a relationship with a person who has lived in a country with some Socialist principles her entire life, and I've visited there (Sweden) often enough to experience what some facets of different forms of government can achieve.

Sweden and the US are completely different, especially population-wise, so what is good for one might not be good for the other (not saying that everything in Sweden is really working) but to just call out a particular ideology because a whole host of others denigrate it is just being ill-informed and juvenile.

Many diverse political ideologies have tenets that are relevant and do work. The problem we will always have in governing ourselves is to keep flexible, able to take on and ratify things that aren't working, and striving to keep in place those that do achieve what they set out to.

Free-enterprise Republican Democracy is not perfect. No ideology is. So please do a little reading, do some traveling, and then I'm sure things will make sense.

Our country is in unbelievable turmoil right now, and there a lot of culpable parties.
