Not a whole lot of out power is nuclear.

Do research on the tesla roadster and tesla white star.

The very few nuclear plants we have are effective in creating energy, but alot of it is lost and dissipated by the time it gets to your car.
Short of having a nuclear reactor in your car, this just isn't a plausible solution with modern technology.

I can't remember the name of a perticular source I read recently, I'll haveto search for it, but it said electric cars are as much as 30% less efficient because of all the electric energy that gets lost in conversion.
