I'm glad you backed up your opinions with some legit observations, though. I guess ultimately it's a difference in opinion, though. While he's certainly not doing anything you'd need a graphing calculator to listen to structure-wise, I do give him credit for stepping away from the completely linear stuff. And again, some of his songs are a lot simpler than others. Some are far more complex. I don't find the music flat and soulless, though. At least not a good chunk of it. I doubt you'd know off hand, but I'm curious to know what songs you've heard.
