I think that if a species is becoming extinct because humans are destroying the land they live on or hunting them down and killing them off, then I think that trying to save them would be a noble and worthy cause.

But if a species is going away because of a spreading disease, why do people feel the need to interfere? I don't think its because they really care about the animals, I think its because they want to feel empowered because they're attemping to control nature.

I think it would be interesting if dinosaurs still existed, when they started going extinct, I can only imagine the extreme legnths humans would go to to save them. I picture a huge Brontosaurus strapped on the bed of a massive truck; enourmous cranes picking up dinosaurs to take them away to be saved.
