I don't know what private shooting preserve means, but if it's one of those places then yes, that's pretty weak. If you lived on a factory farm, you probably wouldn't feel better knowing you'll be eaten after you die, and the dog dragged behind that car is way luckier than the average farm chicken. I don't think eating animals in inherently wrong, but there's no instance of factory farming that I think is okay.
