Can someone make a valid argument on why someone should buy a PS3 over the Xbox 360 this Christmas? I honestly can't think of anything.

Because you should have bought the Xbox 360 last Christmas? Or at least earlier this year? It's been out for a year...honestly, for any hardcore gamer, this should not be an issue. They already bought one long ago. You could have already had the 360 for awhile and accrued the disposal income for another system or two by now.

(This next bit is not in response to Egon):

Another thing that's pissing me off lately, everyone is comparing Gears of War to the PS3 games. Gears of War is NOT a first generation 360 game, the system has been out for a year. So they've had a year to refine that, and it's a great game. Not to mention it's from the studio that did UT-UT2004, the last of which was one of the best computer games ever. So it's no surprise.

On the flipside, PS3 just came out today, so all we've got so far is launch titles. Obviously they won't all be hits, they're just trying to get some out the door (like the previous PS1 and PS2 launches). Judging by the fact that it's already got 3-4 games rated in the 8s and 9s/10, BY THE FIRST DAY, I'd say that bodes well for the PS3.

the ps3 is also the least expensive blue ray disk player which is another reason to buy it
