Take Led Zeppelin for instance. I am young enough where by the time I got into them, I could look at their entire discography as a whole and judge each album on its own. But I bet there's old guys out there who got into them at the beginning and thought they totally gayed out on Led Zeppelin III and won't listen to anything but the first two.
