my background... i was early influenced by the riffs of old metallica and slayer, got into death metal, solo guitarists like becker and uli jon roth, now i'm into all kinds of metal, death, black, jazz, doom, progressive, whatever. my biggest influences in the past few months have been death, king diamond, galactic, a perfect circle, jason becker, ulver, carcass... also into funk, blues, a small ammount of jazz. im finishing my 1st semester at berklee but i don't intend to go back because i don't think what they're teaching me is worth my money. i don't know any official theory aside from my keys and a few scales, most of my playing is by ear, muscle memory, and feeling. i haven't had a sucessful band experience yet, i had allot of material going with a couple people and i was dubbing as the drummer just to write shit as we were looking for a real drummer. i was in a band earlier but they had no promise and i didn't click with them. where do you have your set?
