i think jim means dropped A on the 6th... C would tuning up..

toggletoggle post by niccolai   at Aug 22,2004 8:19pm
when he sais dropped c, I don't think he means from that tuning, just dropped c is a common name for C tuning...
and also, you must use like a 13-15 guage string to tune that low on a six, do you have a baratone?

toggletoggle post by honor4death   at Aug 22,2004 8:26pm
no we tune to A, we dont have any C tuning....

toggletoggle post by honor4death   at Aug 22,2004 8:26pm
so it would be
A
E
A
D
G
B

like tuning to dropped D...just A

toggletoggle post by dyingmuse   at Aug 22,2004 8:42pm
shroud is in B

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at Aug 22,2004 8:42pm
I really don't understand this lingo.

toggletoggle post by Kalopsia   at Aug 22,2004 8:45pm
dropped tuning is not another way to call it C tuning or anything like that. drop tuning is your lowest string is tuned one full step lower than the rest of your strings are. for example, standard tuning is E,A,D,G,B,E. dropped D tuning is D,A,D,G,B,E. the only thing that changed was the E string was tuned down a full step. it's the same way for any other type of dropped tuning. so i don't what the fuck you guys are talking about.

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at Aug 22,2004 8:49pm
I know the drop stuff. But the're talking about drop c a d b and what not.

toggletoggle post by dyingmuse   at Aug 22,2004 8:53pm
B is
B E A D F# B

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at Aug 22,2004 8:54pm
Is there really any need for that kind of tunning?

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at Aug 22,2004 8:54pm
tuning*

toggletoggle post by dyingmuse   at Aug 22,2004 8:54pm
i use 7 string strings. throw out the high E
so its still in 5th's

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at Aug 22,2004 8:55pm

Yea if your in Exhumed , fleshgrind, or fleshcrawl, or even Krisiun.

toggletoggle post by Aegathis  at Aug 22,2004 8:57pm
Coffin Birth currently uses D tuning, not drop d. Leukorrhea switches back and fourth between D tuning and Drop C.

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at Aug 22,2004 8:57pm
well Drop D I guess.

toggletoggle post by Sinistas   at Aug 22,2004 9:07pm
Dreaded Silence tunes to D.

toggletoggle post by Hoser at Aug 22,2004 9:47pm
Hand Choke Neck:

Standard tuning down a whole step, drop C

the lower the tuning, the _______ it sounds.

fill in the blank with any of these words:

heavier
angrier
more aggressive
darker

you get the idea

toggletoggle post by niccolai   at Aug 22,2004 10:06pm
I'm not going to say 'plenty of heavy, angry, aggressive, dark songs have been written in standard tuning' but I'm sure someones going to try and argue with that.

toggletoggle post by Blue  at Aug 22,2004 10:45pm
i tune to drop d bitch. its all about the chug.

toggletoggle post by Bradness at Aug 22,2004 10:47pm
Kevorkians tunes a half step up from standard tuning
Continued tunes to B
and the Gunmen tune to whatever guitar is in tune with itself

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at Aug 22,2004 10:49pm
It can be done.

oh i know there are songs in standard tuning that are dark and heavy and yada yada yada. what many believe is that if it were tuned lower, it'd be even heavier. hence Mortician tunes to like G

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at Aug 22,2004 11:05pm

I'm actually glad to see people talking about MAKING the music.

toggletoggle post by assuck   at Aug 22,2004 11:05pm

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Aug 23,2004 1:40am
you damn kids always like the crap!!! J/K
heartwork like woverine blues by Entombed, was the biggest sell out death metal ever saw, back in the day.
I can see why ppl would like it now, but going from descanting, to heartwork was a HUGE letdown in my, and ALOT of older death metal fans eyes....but hey whatevuh! If u like it, u like it, and I dont, and we still are wicked pissah!!

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at Aug 23,2004 1:43am
Well I can see why that no love lost song is kinda tame (radio worthy almost) but I do like that album. some really good riffs and solos.

Standard tuning somewhere around "e". we really dont care as long as we're in tune to each other

toggletoggle post by Siberia   at Aug 23,2004 9:23am
For 5 Minutes Hate, Brad uses a 5 string bass (BEADG) and Dan uses a 7 string (BEADGBE) and I use a 6 string (BEADF#B)

toggletoggle post by assuck   at Aug 23,2004 1:29pm
carcass never sold out, they just got better at their instruments
