As soon as I get outta this facken place I'm heading straight to chunky's cinema to catch this. I'm getting there 2 hours before the movie actually starts. I have high hopes for this movie as I've been waiting like 10 years to see a battle between the two classic monsters. I'll post my review here later.

quick review:

they used little CG which was awesome, everything looked pretty real. The movie lacked character development, everyone dies off pretty quick so you don't feel anything when someone dies. the only person in this from the other alien movies is 'bishop' the andriod, only he's a real 'powerful' person in this so further down the road they must make the andriod after his looks. There wasn't any profanity, even when the chick says "you're one ungly mother------------" it cuts to a sound before she says it... It wasn't gory enough, I mean christ, the original Predator movie was pretty brutal for its time... now everything is like held back just so so more kids under 17 can pay to see it.... also I thought they didn't do a good job on the detailed features of the predator face when he takes off his mask... They should have made this 2 hours long, and added more into it.... I look foreward to alien 5 though if that does begin production sometime.

saw it today. went with spladino and alicia and her friend. She turned the movie into a friggin comedy. and the moie, well... wait till it comes out on video.

I enjoyed the movie very much. I really had doubts about the fact that it was on earth and the pg 13 rating but i would have to say it was violent enough. There were a few swears in the movie, both shit and fuck were both said, haha. Id also have to say that the Queen alien looked the best in this movie, makes the one in the 2nd and 4th one look really lame.

the movie was gay. they ruined any coolness that the AVP franchise had. thanks hollywood.

i've said this since i first heard they were making a movie. it should be 2 hours of pure carnage, period. fuck this whole temple in antarctica or wherever they are. just have the aliens somehow show up in NYC, the predators follow, and there's a gigantic battle in NY for 2 hours, with people dying left and right. no dialogue at all. i haven't seen the movie yet but i will

I've been looking forward to this movie for a long time, hopefully it won't let me down like The Village and Collateral did.

I thought i t was pretty good...it needede to be longer the whole "battle" was short as hell. The predator is alot bigger in this movie like hes been benching a few hundred tons waiting for this to come out.

the aliens were ok, too much CGI.
basically there was an hour of build up into a 20 minutes of semi-ok fighting. a lot of the alien movements moved way too fast to really see. the pyramid moved around stupidly. the end with the fight was an interesting twist, but dumb. the VERY end with the new aliens sucked. though I was wondering about when the face hugger that went at the predator.

what was up with the 5 minute incubation time on the aliens?
with all the destruction rought at the pyramid, how could there be another battle in 100 years? where the hell are they going to battle then?

An interesting note on this movie that I just realized the other day. It takes place before the 1st Predator. That's why predators decided to hunt humans because the black chick was so tough. They didn't need aliens anymore since humans seemed to be a formidible enough prey. Neat concept I think. Anyways, look forward to 2 more AVPs and an Alien 5 (J. Cameron, Weaver and Arnold are supposedly on board for this).

nope. in predator 2 which takes place in 2018 or something like that in the near future Gary Busey's character explains that something like this happened 2 years earlier in South America (which was predator 1) and that he's been after it since.

There are things wrong with the story.

In predator 2 at the begining it says its the year 1997, and that particular scene your talking dugoxistance, about he says 10 years ago if i recall correctly.

Ok here goes
In the future somewhere Ripley and her crew (Dallas' crew) get fucked by the Alien. The company thought it might be there. Only Ripley survives.

The second one, Aliens (the best one) shes found 57 (I do believe)years later in hyper sleep. They send her with a buch of marienes cause the company (again) knows that the Aliens are there and that they killed every one in the colony on LB-426. The public never knew about the Aliens. Every one execpt for Ripley, Newt and Corp. Hicks survive. (and Bishod the android)

Alien 3. The ship (Sulaco) that they escaped and crash lands on a prison colony planet. Only Repley survives. A face hugger got into the Sulaco and laid an egg in Ripleys chest. Another face hugger gets the dog in the prison. Poor doggy. That's were the Alien came from that kills almost everyone in the prison. The company comes to the prison colony to take the Alien from inside Ripley. Fearing that it'll escape she jumps into a lava pit. (incinerater). They take one prisoner. Don't know what happens to him.

Alien resurection, The company clones her and well, alot of people die. But alot live. They blow up the ship and they get to Earth on an escape pod. YAY.

In Predator 1. Only two survive.

In Predator two You can see an Alien skull. That's cool. Aside from the chick in AVP. Danny Glover is the only surviving human to see an Alien.


AVP the chick survives. this is based WAY before the first Alien movie. Either she told NO ONE. Or she died from hypothermia.

Silly me. I remember P2 being in the future but it was only 7 years ahead of the time it came out. Damned futuristic movies not being that in the future. Well it would've been a neat coincidence if I knew what I was talking about. That makes me like AVP even less now.

I personnaly think that Bishop II is an android for two reasons (One is only in the Alien 3 Specal Edition DVD release.) Firstly when 85 hits Bishop over the head with the metal pole he seems to feel pain but when he gets up, he is in no apparent pain. He then proceeds to turn away from the gate slightly and shout in a desperate tone 'I'm not an andriod Ripley'. Secondly as Ripley is almost over the blast furnace Bishop has a semi-closeup shot(If you pause the dvd or video now as this is in the theatrical release.) Notice his ear. It is very clearly knocked severly out of place. It sticks out much more tha the other one and it looks like it is close to falling off. Now because were human, wouldn't you be in a little more pain than Bishop II is in. There i am convinced that Bishop II is just another andriod sent by the company to try and obtain the alien
