Earlier, a certain local government meeting in the area that I live featured 1.5 hours of public speak time from concerned citizens who want to designate the place in question as a "sanctuary city" based nearly exclusively on word-of-mouth accepted as fact on Facebook which spread like wildfire throughout the various social media groups pertaining to the area. Was interesting to see lawyers go to the podium and pwn the public on what is factual.
This is a good example of why social media is a joke and only works toward making people less intelligent. People accepting shared content and opinions as true and legal fact with zero fact checking is sad.
Tl;dr people are scared of donald trump and without even reading the article or caring about the content- yes. providence sucks.
