- Frederick Nietzsche

Solitary Martyr, the new EP from Dark Metallers DEATHWHITE is out now. Stream and/or purchase the EP at this location.

A year after the release of their well-received debut Ethereal EP, dark metal outfit DEATHWHITE has returned with the Solitary Martyr EP. The product of increased focus on vocal melodies and hooks, Solitary Martyr displays a keener sense of depth and versatility than its predecessor. Recorded by Brette Ciammara at Studio 344, the production is more robust, as are the riffs, retaining a feel and flare akin to the bands that were so crucial inspiring Deathwhite in the first place.

"All five songs are spun gold, thick with emotion and adorned with ginormous payoffs at chorus time."
- Angry Metal Guy

"Solitary Martyr is a total no-brainer for those who like their metal served up with plenty of feeling and sorrow - perfect for a rainy day." 9/10
- Dead Rhetoric

"Just sheer high quality music here." 10/10
- Taste of Khaos

"Deathwhite is not metal, but is absolutely metal adjacent. Loosely speaking a dark pop project, the band specializes in the sort of crestfallen and eyeliner-friendly jams that Anathema have made their stock and trade."
- Invisible Oranges

"The way this band incorporates numerous styles of metal is beyond impressive, and the melodic vocals that top off the songs only add to their immense power as band."
- Skulls N Bones

"Solitary Martyr is a cracking, enjoyable, EP." 4.5/5
- Rock N Reel Reviews

"Katatonia, Paradise Lost and Anathema remain prime influences but once again Deathwhite put their own spin on things."
- Wonderbox Metal

"Deep and harmonious magnetism that pulls you even deeper into some highly polished melodies and muscular rhythms that blend superbly with the clean vocal caresses." 4.5/5
- RAM Zine

"With a perfect blend of heavy and mellow passages, 'Solitary Martyr' is one of the better EPs we have received in 2015."
- Infernal Masquerade
