I just saw Nekrofilth last night in New Orleans. Anyone in New England would be fools to miss out on this. Their 'Devil's Breath' lp was one of the best records last year.
All of their songs are about drugs, sluts, addiction, perversion, filth and sleaze. It was as if some talented metal heads looked long and hard at pictures of GG Allin and the Murder Junkies without ever hearing a single note, and then wrote songs to match what they thought GG Allin should sound like. (That, of course, making music that is much better than GG did).
The show last night was a filler date on their tour, so there was not much notice about it. The place was pretty empty and they went on after 1am. That was still fine with me, it was like I was invited to a private rehearsal with a full bar. I chatted with Zach Massacre after the show, and some of you know he's the guitarist in Nunslaughter.
Well, you have a heads up on this, so you should do yourself a favor and go.
Good show was good down here. Short set list and a low turnout, but fun none the less. Nekrofilth was just about as sleazy as I would imagine, and they closed with "Cross Me Fool" by Razor, fucking ruled.
Where church movie was cool. Should have played it on a loop behind all the bands.
Yeah, that's what I was expecting when they started setting up. Good show though, Nekrofilth was actually tighter and heavier live than I expected. Bog's set might've been the best/least drunk I've seen them in a long time.
