Always interested in knowing what guitarists use to record/play live shows. Amp heads, pedals, guitars, cabinets. How do you like to have your guitar setup/sound? Elitists please feel free to be Elite.
I will start with mine:
Marshall 1960s cabinet
Marshall Mode 4 amp head
Gibson SG standard
BOSS GT-10 pedal board
I have to fully think out what my dream setup would be.
Peavey 6505+ through a marshall 1960A lead cab. I've been rocking my ibanez s-series with the poplar finish. Pedalboard is my korg tuner, boss noise suppressor, boss rv5 reverb and a boss delay. I use the rig live and for recording (sans pedal board for recording).
In before anyone shits on the Marshall Mode 4, this whole thread is subjective to our individual tastes. Here is a video of Alex Skolnick giving a review on this.

Fuck I want a Peavey 6505+ or a Peavey 5150 which I have wanted since the 90's............fuck you think I would have brought one by now, gotta think bout that.
Agile baritone with the pickups (D-Activators) split to two outputs
neck goes into an EHX Metal Muff, a Mesa D180, and a pair of ported 1x15s
bridge goes into a 5150, a V30 2x12, and an MC90 2x12
for cleans I'm using a Boss flanger and delay

Looking into a reverb pedal so I won't have to borrow my girlfriend's Tech 21, and a couple of pedals to make switching amps/channels easier. I guess I wouldn't turn down a Mesa oversized 4x12 for the 5150, either. In a perfect world I guess the guitar would have an aluminum neck and better pickups.
On the Grue record we just finished I used all the amps above, plus a Mesa Mk3 combo and ported 1x12, plus a GK800RB and Ampeg 8x10. And all clean guitars were through a borrowed Roland JC120. I guess maybe my IDEAL RIG would involve somebody to carry that around so I don't have to mess around trying to make the 5150 sound okay clean?

Oh and also a super fucked up/modded EHX Blackfinger pedal belonging to Jeff from Fresh Kill, that had so much gain that it sounded like it was constantly melting down.

gibson explorer with 1 bridge pickup (dimarzio x2n) and 1 volume knob/kill switch (non existent tone knob is cranked) ...with, here's the kicker...a MAPLE fretboard.

I want to hear that album for the music, and the guitar tone, sounds solid. I want to hear to see if it is something I can agree with.

I would like to see a pic of your Gibson Explorer as well.

Somehow it didn't occur to me to post my ultimate guitar gear white whale, which is a Mesa Mark 3 Coliseum (180 watt Mark 3). I don't even really know what I'd do with it, so I guess it's pure irrational greed.

Its my dream set up...I don't actually have that explorer. I have a samick knock off with a rosewood board...but its got the x2n in it
Gibson LP Studio
Ampeg AMG100 (backup, doesn't get played too much)
Boss TU-2
MXR Carbon Copy
Boss SD-1 (level dimed, gain at 0, tone wherever sounds best that day)
Sovtek MiG 60
Redbear MK120 (this was used a lot more when the Mig was being fixed, but I love this thing so much)
Homemade 4x12 w/ Warehouse speakers (2x V30 clones, 2x Classic Lead clones in an X)
That whole rig (minus the cab; I used one of my old Sunn 4x10's) is on the new record, plus I used Matt's V4 with a turbo tube screamer for other rhythm stuff, and Glenn had a JMP and an Ampeg VL1002 that we used for lead stuff.
