Heads up for a few folks. I'm renting a room for 2 months at priority music in the Hanson building. $240 a month, and definitely big enough for a band, maybe 2. It's around 19X12 or so, with a little weird alcove. When I move out, it will be available.

But more importantly, there is a room upstairs that was converted to a full apartment long ago. There's been a dude living in there, and he's in the process of finally moving out. It's a full APARTMENT setup, but it's going to be rented as a rehearsal room. Dude wants to get $600 a month, but in his words "I'm more concerned with getting paid ON TIME, so if it's on TIME I'd be willing to negotiate for less".

I just figured I'd post this here, because in MY OPINION this is a genius spot for a recording studio, multi-band sharing setup, etc... - there's separate rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, etc!!!

Luke is NO LONGER running priority in Hanson. He's hired a manager named Mark to run it. So far, he seems okay. Nice guy, and I just watched him bust his hump tearing apart the other upstairs room to make a giant space for his own studio.

Now for the grain of salt - It IS priority music. I still get sketched out, and currently bring ALL my gear home every night. If you haven't been there before, or heard stories, simply do a search on this forum alone. Be prepared, and carry insurance! (good advice anywhere)

If you were in the room I think, he just tore everything out, including that loft and the boards over the window. Now he's got a huge recording studio area. It's actually impressive.

Forgot to mention - tearing everything out and opening it up in the apartment room is also an option - talk to the dude, he's willing to negotiate it seems.

I think his name was Gary? If I remember correctly, Luke rented the Hanson building from Gary, and Gary had an office there. Gary got busted for kiddie porn charges or something and his office was raided. I only know this part because Luke gave me a bottle of liquor out of the office since the door was kicked in and the guy was already in jail or something.

Not even close, but just as twisted as the real thing. Gary, in fact, never got in any trouble for kid porn that I know of.

The OLD priotity building in Hanson was Gary. He was the proprietor, and Luke was sub-letting/managing the space. Gary shot kiddie porn (teen girls) in his office. They grew drugs in the building. There was a HUGE chop shop in the basement. And his security guards dealt coke out of the front security office (that became the Priority music store). Luke actually cleaned things up quite a bit, and managed to get Gary to keep all his creepy shit in his office and away from the rest of the building.

In the end, Gary went broke. As a last effort, I believe he attempted to seize the entire business from Luke, forcing/locking him out. Luke took him to court and won, but by that point Gary dropped dead. Since he was proprietor, and not owner, and since he has all his money in trusts, Luke got shafted even after winning the court case.

Since then, he took over the building next door (original building was shut down by the town). He is proprietor there, much like Gary was next door. The actual OWNER is Gary Babson's MOTHER, who is like 300 years old.

Long story short:

THE ENTIRE BUILDING IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

Creepy Kenny, the homeless tard that was living upstairs illegally forever finally got booted by Luke for owing a ton of rent. His response was to go to ancient Mrs. Babson, and tell her a bunch of scary shit about Luke (some true, some not I'm guessing). She grabbed her lawyers, found some technicality, and now he's losing the entire building. He's being forced out by the 12th, and the building is being sold.

So not only is the room not available - if you or a friend are currently rehearsing there - GET THE FUCK OUT NOW!!

Speaking of underage kids, anyone that ever rented a room there and fucked in it? Gary had video. Many of the rooms were bugged + monitored right from his office.
