How the fuck can anyone not like this song, other than that Fucking Squid Anselmo is in it? I know the majority of the board doesnt like Pantera, but how the fuck does this song not kick ass? Drank and drugged like fucking pirates playing their brand of metal while metal began to die and grunge kicked in.

Let the Pantera hate begin.

Also fuck commericals before a video on youtube, and whatever fag band links their cover of the song on the video.

bro, why do you hate fags

toggletoggle post by MotleyGrue at Apr 10,2013 1:42pm
I don't hate fags, just abuse that word way too much, I edited it to Squids.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 10,2013 1:43pm
I never saw phil when he could move at all.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 10,2013 1:43pm
DB also doesn't look stiff at all in that video.

toggletoggle post by MotleyGrue at Apr 10,2013 1:55pm
I saw all those fuckers moving all over the stage in their early days.

toggletoggle post by MotleyGrue at Apr 10,2013 1:56pm
going to shows in the late 80's people passing joints down the fucking row getting high as fuck.

Pretty solid performance.

Cowboys from Hell is a great album, even if I don't care about anything they ever released before or after Cowboys.

If I could go back in time, i'd totally see Pantera though. Feels like one of those bands that I would've enjoyed much more live than in the studio. That Pantera / Sepultura / Strapping Young Lad tour back in 1994 or whatever would've been such a sexy show. (in b4 someone hates on early 90's Sepultura, Arise and Chaos A.D. kick ass)

Spence you would have loved Pantera back in the day, they fucking
dominated, and Sepultura fucking ruled........

seeing "Floods" live was one of the greatest moments of my life.

Russia gives us Nikolai Volkoff, and we give them MTV and 2 Live Crew. Fair trade, huh?

I fuckin hate that clicky, aidsy kick sound, like dropping a coin in a metal bowl. Half of this tune is nu-metal, sorry bra. No denying that Douchebag Darryl was extremely talented, just wish the music wasn't so Ramrod.

toggletoggle post by Longdeadgod  at Apr 11,2013 10:22pm
Killer tune

toggletoggle post by MotleyGrue at Apr 11,2013 10:36pm
It's cool dude, to each their own, I think this was before nu metal was coined, they could be a fucking patsy for that genre and help contributed to that crap, no doubt. They made in big while heavy metal was starting to fucking crumble in on itself due to all the SQUID glam radio friendly metal. They helped give metal a kick in the nuts as it was fucking going down, but still threw down while grunge was big.

Now I am not an elitist so I could be SO FUCKING WRONG, but while grunge was getting big, black metal and death metal were fucking blooming in the underground scene, but Pantera was helping in some small way keeping metal alive on the mainstream.

Fuck, if only Daryl & his brother Vinnie played harsher, they would have fucking tore a huge scar across this earth.

Also you cannot fucking beat Dimebag for being a motherfucker, and being killed while doing what he fucking loved, playing music live.

ITT: it took me too long to fucking type this shit out while drinking, fuck grammar.

Fuck Yes.

Whoever it was that played bass on Cowboys from Hell is underrated as fuck. Pretty solid bassist, and probably the best player on that album IMO.

toggletoggle post by Garth Algar at Apr 12,2013 7:31am
^Ha while I love Rex's playing and all, that is just such a stupid fucking statement.

i know rifling through the endless tomes on Google is a tought thing to do, but if you search hard enough you'll discover the unimportant no-name Rex "Rocker" Brown.

.

Far Beyond Driven and The Great Southern Trendkill have some pretty ugly stuff, I'd say they got pretty harsh for being "mainstream"

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Apr 12,2013 4:01pm
seriously, it doesn't get much grittier than "Good Friends and A Bottle of Pills" and "Living Through Me (Hell's Wrath)".

toggletoggle post by MotleyGrue at Apr 12,2013 4:05pm
Good to see I am not the fuck one who likes this band.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Apr 12,2013 5:26pm
no absolutely not, i am a long-running shameless Pantera fanboy.

toggletoggle post by Spence at Apr 12,2013 7:03pm
I wasn't asking who the bassist was, because quite frankly it doesn't matter who it was, I was just commenting that Pantera's basslines are always overlooked because ZOMG PHIL, DIMEBAG AND VINNY ARE GODZZZ.

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Apr 12,2013 7:08pm
Shut up.

toggletoggle post by Garth Algar at Apr 12,2013 9:00pm
Not knowing the names of the people in Pantera is just gay.

dude he's the most underwhelming bassist ever...

sometimes Dime will bust into a lead and it legit sounds like the lead and the drums...the bass is just this low frequency; you cant even make out chord changes or anything.

Wow, now I feel fucking old. But yeah, Pantera was way better live than on CD. For as much of an ass clown just about everyone in the band turned out to be I always had a blast watching them live, and they were always loud as hell.
