‎1) Why should you be one with the Legion Wolfkult?

2) What can you offer to The Legion Wolfkult?

3) What does black metal mean to you?

4) Would you be willing to go dig up a grave or break into a tomb?

New England has a disease and its called Core. When I was younger and going to shows we did not have the internet to look up bands or stay in contact with family and friends. My weekends were usually going to shows, seeing new bands, getting new demos on cassette, supporting the underground, getting into the mosh pit, getting in fights, and meeting new people from all over. I love music, and during the 90's black metal came into my life. I was attracted to it. I wanted to learn more about it and I was getting disgusted with all the music that was going on and black metal was something new and fresh to me and I could relate a little to as what they were singing about as well as the music caught the atmosphere of haunted New England.

As I read all I could about the Norwegian Black Metal Scene I liked the whole idea of the black metal circle, even though things did not end well for certain people over there, I was impressed how in the beginning they all had the same vision, they were all musicians, they helped each other bands out, they had similar ideas and beliefs. They captured the spirit of their surroundings. There was more emotion in their music then just chug, chug, chug, chug, chug, break down. Some of them stood for something and as I read on and had contact with some of them via email, I said to myself there is so much great black metal, death metal, doom and thrash in New England that it does not get the recognition that it deserves.

i was tired and frustrated with some of the same bands always playing the same festivals every year, I was angry that there is so much to New England and I was getting tired of bands talking about their lame ass ex girl friend or how their friend stabbed them in the back, or about rights to this and that, or how they dedicated the whole set to Jesus Christ and I did not give a shit.

I started my band Perpetual Winter. I took some legends around New England and wrote songs about them, I was influenced by Robert Frost, and H.P Lovecraft, I could feel the cold New England Spirit run through my veins as I drove through the rolling hills of New Hampshire, Vermont, and Connecticut and there would be snow on the ground and I would have Emperor's "In The Night Side Eclipse" on the stereo and how it just captured everything that was around me.

I wanted to make a change in New England. Unleashed from dark haunted New England Skies. I wanted to start up my own festival and I called it " Winter Is Coming Fest" because we all know how winters in New England are sometimes long and when winter arrives it is brutal at times. It makes us tough and bitter haha...

I started The Legion because I wanted a group that had similar views, ideas, and visions. I wanted bands to get paid, not to sale tickets and deal with all that venue bull shit, its time for a new era in New England. Core is dead. Time we take New England and we put it on the map.

Growing up I always said, they know how to do metal the correct way over seas. I want to go to Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Denmark etc....

I want the new young kids or people to say now....New England knows how do it and I want kids to say, I want to go to New England, I want to visit or live there...

The Legion, we show you the truth, we show you freedom, we are the wolves of this world, join us, support us, for there is always strength in numbers.....

There are shows happening, and yes they maybe small for now, but the numbers of people attending are slowly growing, support your local music, support the underground, bands, support the shows, hails to The Legion Wolfkult, my brothers, and to all of you.....POWER OVER DEATH.....

Katey Krääzy Ray I've been thinking about this a while to myself... now that i see this posted i feel that its a good time to speak up. i think i've stood in the shadowy outskirts of this amazing group long enough to see, hear, and witness the amazing things the Legion has done. Although i've not known the majority of you all long, the few i do know, i know very well. Black Metal is everything to me, and I know that this is a general statement so i'll go a bit more into it. Before I started living and breathing in the beautiful darkness that is the atmosphere the music creates, i lived a life full of music. playing, listening, creating. At one point or another, no matter what type of music it was, i always made a personal connection to a song or two.. yet when I found this amazing genera.. it changed my life. The music alone was amazing. and when i started learning more and more about the history that came with it, i started falling more and more in love with this. It became more than just something I listened to, but a life style. Morals I had always thought about, became clear, and i've become my own person. And with this, i've found more and more people each year with the similar experiences. Black Metal is not just a type of music. it is art too, yes. but the music and art surrounds a type of life that, although unfortunately not many survive, but those that do enjoy. Black metal is something that means so much to me, even though i am a writer, it is hard to put into words.

And that importance carries over to the Legion. Here, in New England, behind every lake, mountain, river, etc.. lies a talented artist. I tried for years, a while ago, to figure out a way to help these amazing artists that i knew.. only to fail due to school, and the fact that i was only so old at the time. The day i found out about the legion, my heart skipped. a group, a local group of people, who were in it for the right reasons, were and are helping local bands, who are serious about what they do, become successful? hell fucking yes. finally! and to top it off, see how close nit the group truly is. Out of the dark and beautiful forests of new england, the legion wolfkult arose and took the fans of black and death metal by the balls and said, "come this fucking way."
now, why do i think i should be a part of this and what can i offer? time. dedication. anything asked of me. i've not come to as many events as i would like to in fear of my car's transmission dropping out of the car faster than you can say Sassu Wunnu heh. but thats not going to stop me for long. i can speak a good amount of Finnish.. so if that was ever a needed thing im your gal'. i've worked at a show before.. went to school for entertainment management for a while. i've no issue giving my time to help with anything that could use some help.. hell, i will totally be ok with making all ya'll guys sammiches and fetching beers ( i had to throw in some silly womanly things) but in all seriousness.. i've no issue, and would gladly donate every ounce of time i had that was needed to help with events, etc. for the legion. this group is one of a kind, and no doubt will put new england on the metal-map with a big red pentagram.
... oh. right. and the grave digging. ov course.

Justin Durnil ....can't beat Katey's at all.... How the hell am I supposed to top that?!?! Well anyways I would do all that I possibly could to spread the word about The Legion and how awesome it is, what you guys do. I've always enjoyed helping out my friends who were in bands back in MI, and I would enjoy helping out the local metal scene here as much as I possibly can. I offer as much of my time that I do have available that isn't involved in Navy, and I would make it a duty to help make The Legion grow. I would love to go to as many shows as I'd like, but again, there are times when I cant, either due to subschool or duty T.T Black metal to me is more than music, it's a lifestyle and more, but despite how cliche it sounds its how I truly feel. There are few who listen to the music, and even fewer who understand it for what it really is. While not all of us fully understand it, it doesn't stop us from trying to, even if it seems or is impossible. It is made up of many different thoughts, ideas, feelings, etc...in essence, it's a living, breathing thing, because it is all of us, making it difficult to understand, until we understand ourselves and our position in this underground world we live in. The atmosphere of the genre takes me to a different place, a dark and wonderful place, where I can drown myself in solitude and just think or not think at all and let the music just sink into my veins. For the longest time I've wanted to go to the birthplace of black metal and other places where black metal exploded, but I can honestly say I'm glad to be here, especially in the winter months, because it still gives a grim feeling that I would probably get if I were in the mighty mountains of Norway. I laugh when I hear people say, "I am more black metal than you are or more black metal than they are", I find this funny because I did not know there was levels of black metal or that there was any such thing of being more black metal than that person or this person or this band. If you have to go around and say that you are more black metal than someone else or more black metal than another black metal band, than you are forgetting one thing....What black metal really is and truly is....There is no fucking level to black metal and no one can say you are more black metal than someone else. Makes me laugh inside when I hear someone say they are so much more black metal than someone else, I look them in the eyes and say, your just a fucking sheep, and someday you will be brought to the slaughter.....

I encourage you to some night when the nights get warm again, to journey deep into the woods or vast forest, by yourself....Start a fire, when 3am the witching hour approaches, from 3am-5am stay awake, watch the flames in your fire that your built, listen to the whispers that are around you, the forest comes a live, write down your thoughts and experiences, if you listen carefully, the gods will show you visions, Pan will play his pipes, and a new person you will be and shall be.....

Have I've done this? Many times....Many times....

Start a faggy club about it.

Oh wait...
