New site? Maybe some day.

That hilarious moment when you became friends with Eric Paone on FB in the first place |
|
I was going to make a terrible joke about mormons burning your house down, but I decided against it. |

^SUPPORT (formally met ark for the first time last night and knew he was to be my next president) |
|
How do you know that's "why" he unfriended you?
Maybe he figured out that you're a gay fagmosexual who likes dicks up your ass?
Maybe you made fun of his "jams" a'la late-80s Anthrax?
Also, FB is for fags, so I guess that's a given. Carry on. |
|
That oblivious moment when Eric Paone accuses you of being a racist on RTTP and then friend requests you on Facebook |

INB4 Romney ships porn distribution jobs overseas. |
|
Romney would just get rid of porn. Same with Paul Ryan. |
|
Romney would find a way to make money off of it in a secret, illegal account in the Cayman Islands. Ryan would disagree and secede starting WWIII leading to the inevitable invention of tanks. |
|
Fuck Romney and fuck the GOP! Obama all the way nigga! |
|
The second biggest trick the devil ever pulled was making the world believe there's a difference between Democrats and Republicans. In the public arena, they fight like starving dogs. Behind closed doors, they blow each other like Phil Anselmo in a hotel room with Rob Halford.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
At least Romney isn't a spearchucker. |

Eric would say:
"Damn socialist firefighters. If you can't afford to hire your own private firefighting crew when shit goes down, then let your house burn or you're a commie. Oh wait..."
His posting here aside, Eric is actually wicked nice when I've met him in person and his efforts to help keep thrash in the scene over the years have made it a better place, but I admit I honestly don't get how someone can hate the government so religiously after seeing how much public sector employees can make a difference in actual real life, as opposed to some Ayn Rand theoretical fantasy. |
|
Surely nothing will be better than a big business Mormon for a small business porn store. Herp a derp. |

but I admit I honestly don't get how someone can hate the government so religiously after seeing how much public sector employees can make a difference in actual real lifeQUOTE]
For every action, there's an equal but opposite reaction, or something to that effect.
The govt does a lot of good, but the hate is directed at the overstepping authority / constricting liberties / etc.
I agree that it's counterintuitive for liberty-loving people to support anti-porn, anti-abortion, anti-gay folks that the so-called republicans tend to be, but it's more a matter of repubs tending to be more in favor of limited federal govt than dems, more in favor of states' rights than dems, etc. What someone considers the lesser of two evils is a matter of opinion, but the fact is, they're both evil. In this race, more than ever, it's Kang vs Kodos.
It's stupid that people are bothering to make this presidential race more about the social issues when the president's opinion means dick in the first fucking place. |

^ Hi I'm a doof and fucked up that post, sorry. |
|
Agreed that the President has very limited powers. I don't agree that means the choice is meaningless, because if the President doesn't give a shit about the rules and wants to seize additional power WAY beyond what has always been considered reasonable (Nixon, GWBush), then they do have the power to fuck us over way worse (well at least in Bush's case; Nixon's corruption didn't actually also involve policy failures that affected the country), so it's worth voting for President just to for the less power hungry, more humble person, to the extent such a choice ever exists. It didn't as much in 2000 and 2004, which is why I voted third party, but in this election it's a pretty glaring contrast on that point I think.
I also agree with you that individual liberties are always a concern when it comes to government, and there's never a day in the future where that will end. There's a balance between individual liberties and social responsibility that has been the debate in this country since it was founded, and it must never stop. It's just weird having instead of someone credible like Ron Paul having Mitt Romney as the spokesperson for individual liberties when in example after example, he doesn't believe in them. And then weirder defriending people for not supporting the guy. That's all I'm saying. |
|
...are you wasting time arguing politics in a Eric Paone thread???? |
|
calling out my dad's BS posts got me an angry txt. |
|
heh, and my dad/his gf deleted their comments on fb which led to that txt. heh. |
|
It *is* weird to defriend someone for not thinking the same as you (IF that's what actually happened). I think it's far better to try to change the minds of people who DON'T share your views, than to ramble to people who agree with you (total waste of time).
That being said, Eric seems like a pretty amiable guy altogether, and never gave up on "thrash" which is cool. |
