This is coming out for the xbox360 and ps3 this month. Has anyone played the PSP version of this that came out in 2010? It was originally intended to be the 5th in the series, so this is technically MGS5 I would assume except it takes place after 3.

it's already out as part of the metal gear solid HD collection on PS3 & 360. it's a direct port from the PSP. it's when big boss starts outer heaven. i played it a little bit and wasn't really into it. it's not nearly as good as MGS2 or 3 which is on the same disc and i just ended up playing those. it just suffers from a lot less buttons. i like a lot of buttons.

it takes place chronologically after MGS3 and before MGS2. it's definitely not MGS5, which i guess is currently in development.

I don't think I've ever played a metal gear game. I played that game Syphon Filter which was decent, and I've heard them compared before.

I wish they'd make PC versions. I tried to play MGS 4 a year ago and gave up because controller < mouse.

msd, you can use keyboard+mouse for the PC ports of MGS1 and 2, but the game is not playable with a mouse. it's just not made for it. there's nothing to click on and shimmying and sneaking around is just awkward, and you end up aiming with the keyboard anyway. i'm a PC guy too but some games just need a controller. FIFA, Batman: AC are so much better with one.

The one case where PC controls will always be far superior is in FPS.

I totally agree for MGS 1-3, but 4 had a LOT of first person shooting in it. I was definitely wanting some mousage during those parts.

I remember when Modern Warfare came out and people were posting videos of their completion times on the shooting course in the beginning of the game. The best times people were posting between console and PC were like 5 seconds apart. It was the exact same map.

yea I actually did play 3 on SNES, as well as Mystic Quest, which was pretty weak.

I just never bothered with 7 or any of those because I'm not a huge fan of the art style. I'm sure they're good games.
