New site? Maybe some day.
Tickets could be $3 and they could be playing next door to my house and I would still be sure to miss it. |
Manowar fans = worse than juggalos |
Last year's show was worth every penny IMO
I'd go to this if I hadn't already blown my tickets budget for the year but they'd have a tough time topping the last setlist anyway. |
Last year I refused to buy a ticket cause it was so expensive then the day of the show I was super bummed out I wasn't going. Fuck it, Manowar's one of my favorite bands I'm going this time. |

...except for ex-juggalos that get kicked out of the ICP show being an even more of a drunken mess than any juggalo in the building o.0 |

this is how i feel about missing the scorpions show, except they're a band i really like a lot, not one of my absolute favorites. If it wasn't so expensive i would have gone. |

Yup. I can understand loving Manowar and saying 'It was worth every dollar' to go to a $75 show. But it being WORTH that much doesn't mean that you NEED to be charged that much. There's no way a band from Auburn NY needs that much money coming in to put on a really good show.
Even $50, still a stupidly high price, would be just lower enough that I might be willing to shell it out. But I can't bring myself to do 75. The reason they get away with charging this much, multiple times in a row, is because they keep getting their audience to rationalize paying that much. The only way to discourage it is to refuse to pay. |

Manowar will just not play the U.S. and go to Europe and play to giant crowds. |
That see-saw of choice is created by them, not us.
Maybe you really want to see Manowar and you love their show and that's great, but you have to see that the choice between paying exorbitant amounts of money vs. not being able to see them play the US at all is a choice presented based on the assumption that there's no way for them to play here for less than 75 a ticket. There's just no way that's true. Why do we accept it from them?
We, collectively, COULD send them a message that we would love to see them and we would see them at some kind of reasonable, even high-end-of-reasonable, price. But we've been duped into emptying out our wallets because their projected aura of SACRED METAL BROTHERHOOD, or whatever, fools us into paying it their way. More than once. |
i heard a rumor this show would consist of me fist-pumping to kings of metal at home in my room, can anyone confirm? |

Scorps played last night in CT. Didn't go, too busy.
Their last time through, they played NH but not here.
Wondering if we'll get any at all. |
I went to the Scorpions last night. They were awesome. They've been on the farewell tour for about two years now so I wouldn't be shocked if they came back. |
Gonna take the hit & buy tickets- I've never seen them live and they're one of my favorite bands. And I've spent far more than $75 in one night on stupid bullshit that never made me as a happy as 'Gates Of Valhalla' |

LOL I just said to my wife “I've spent $75 on way stupider shit”. |
and by that I mean cocaine........ because I'm a fucking idiot. |

AT THIS SHOW: Keith spends $75 to go to show and $150 on cocaine to do at the show. |
More like $150 on merch and steal your bag..... |

exactly. Although Ive seen them before, I spent more than 75 bucks this weekend on muchhhh less. Gonna be a good time. |
Well, Roger Waters was $250. And they do bring their own PA with them which is an insane PA. I saw Manowar the last time around. I have no problem with paying 75 bucks to see Battle Hymns played in it's entirely. I'm going to be out of the area with family for Thanksgiving so I'm out on this. Still, that new CD is raging letdown after the greatness of Thunder In The Sky. Man, that manowarrior tune is raging cringworthy.... |

still too much money |
Don't get it. Never will. This band is total garbage |
If it was 25, maybe even 40 bucks, then I'd consider it.
But I don't think Manowar is worth 75 bucks, especially now that they're past their prime. |
Better buy your tickets online because they are $100 at the door. |

we've got a poser over here boys. Take'em away. |

FYI they tack on $25 convenience charge when your order online. At least, they did when I bought two tickets.
BROTHERS OF METAL! |

I know that HookedonMetal\Thundersteel will assume I'm attacking him but the irony of someone whos entire musical taste is based on bands past their prime saying Manowar is past their prime is just too funny. |

But the difference is, their ticket prices aren't as extortionate as Manowar's. I saw Diamond Head in California last year when I was visiting my girlfriend out there and they only charged 20 bucks for tickets. And unlike Manowar, they were coming all the way from the UK.
Another example... Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse 2012. A two-day traditional/power metal festival. Bands playing... Virgin Steele, Brocas Helm, Blacksmith, Slauter Xstroyes, Damien Thorne, Skull Fist, Borrowed Time, Voltax, Borrowed Time, Wizard, VOZ, Ancient Creation, A Sound of Thunder, Pharoah, and Stone Magnum. Tickets were still only 50 bucks. And the organizers of the fest had to shell out a lot of money to bring Wizard here from Germany. Call me a poser, but I like most of those bands more than Manowar.
Therefore, there is no way to justify Manowar charging 75 bucks for tickets. |

Also, as far as "attacking me" goes, I honestly could care less. Because I don't think you'd have the balls to walk up to me and say half of what you say. |
I wouldn't talk to you in real life because I have no interest in ever being friends with you. You seem to think I'm the one always trolling which is wrong. If you notice I'm the one with the “balls” to say shit logged in. |

If you dislike me, I accept that. But I want to ask you... what the hell is your problem with me? I really want to know, because as far as I can tell, I've never done anything to you. |
I have no real problem with you. You're just a noob to this site so you take everything personal. Have you noticed the tons of troll threads about me? Or all of the six feet under jokes? Its the nature of RTTP. |

I definitely did take some shit too personal before. It's just kinda hard sometimes (for me at least) to tell what's joking and what isn't over internet. You don't see facial expressions or tones of voice or whatever so it can be kind of easy to misunderstand shit. I saw some of them threads a while back about me having a small dick or whatever and I actually thought they were kind of funny. |
The only thing I ever did to you is write those parody songs which I've admitted to. Anything else or in the future is not me. |
All right man, cool. Sorry about the misunderstanding. |

I bought my ticket fromm one of the bands, so it was $20. I felt like I should've paid them more money, heh. But then I spent hundreds of dollars actually getting there, so whatever. Also Virgin Steele was genuinely better than expected.
I would like to go to this Manowar show but, well, the price. Nope. |

Yeah, not worth it. Ragnarokkr this year is looking pretty badass though. It's at Reggie's right in the city this year too. Mojoe's was a cool venue, but getting to Joliet was a pain in ass too, what with the money I spent on cabs. I'm playing the fest this year so I don't have to worry about a fest ticket. Still gotta pay for airfare and all that, but the way I see it, it's a small price to pay for getting to share the stage with bands like Oz, Omen, Exumer, and Shok Paris.
You hitting it up again this year?
Also, I agree that Virgin Steele was fucking stellar. The PA for the vocals I think was fucked up though. I was struggling to hear DeFeis at times. |
I would love to see Virgin Steele. |
I kinda wish I was at this, though on the plus side, at least I'm not in Worcester. |
They are loud as hell and sound amazing but are playing a lot of new songs. |
And now they're playing all hits and it rules. |
They played for two hours with no encore which was kind of lame. They didn't play heart of steel which pissed me off. Joey told the crowd that they brought their own PA and sound which is why it was so expensive. They were the best sounding band I've seen at the Palladium. There was probably around 300 people there it wasn't packed at all. They should have had an opening act because a show starting at 8 and ending at 10 is pretty lame. |
Really? Only 300 people? O.o
There must have been, what, a good 1200-1300 at the March show last year?
Oh well, lame. Should've been a opener, a band like Gamma Ray or something would be an amazing band to open for Manowar and made the 100 bucks worth it in my opinion. |
Thanks for the insight Spence. |
Don't you agree though? A band like Gamma Ray or something would've been fucking phenomenal. I don't know why Manowar think people would pay so much to see them. |
I do agree. They needed an opening act. When Immortal opened for them a few years ago it was awesome. They should have at least played a three song encore. |
I highly doubt there were only 300 people there. If there were 300 people, the place would look like a ghost town. heck, 700 downstairs looks like no one is there. |
It looked like no one was there. There is no Way there was even 500 people there. |
Perhaps people were in the balcony? Because sometimes a few hundred people can be up there and be forgotten about. |
Surprising that more people didn't dish out the dough. |
Shit I overslept and missed this show! Goodbye $75 |
if you werent at Manowar/Immortal ten years ago = poseur |
Glad I'm not a poser then. You should have said Manowar at club 125 in Haverhill. |
I wish every metal concert could sound that heavy. Should of played longer. Joey's speech was worth it. |
Glad I'm not a poser then. You should have said Manowar at club 125 in Haverhill. |
would have been there, but I believe it was a Monday. Didn't they ride their bikes in for that one? |
Glad it was empty. Fuck off nowadays Manowar and your retarded ticket prices.
NOT WELCOME!
I remember last time they came around, Joey gave a huge speech about Manowar merch, and the superior quality of Manowar merch compared to other bands merch, and how when people saw you in a Manowar shirt, they just knew you were smart for making good investments. As awesome as the show was, I kinda wanted to return my shirt after his merch speech. Wish I could have afforded to go see them again, none the less. |
Actually the hoodie I bought is really thick material and nice quality. |
