DJERV PREMIERE MUSIC VIDEO FOR "HEADSTONE" VIA REVOLVERMAG.COM
Norwegian band DJERV – whose music can be described as a combination of hard rock and black metal – are excited to premiere their brand new music video for the track “Headstone." A combination of green-screen production and animation, the clip was produced by long time collaborator Jørn Veberg and co-directed by Colin McMahon. You can view the video on REVOLVERMAG.COM here.
Drummer Erlend Gjerde commented: “The 'Headstone' video is a project we've been thinking about for a long time. It was actually going to be the first video of the album a year back, but we just weren't able to put all the pieces together at that point. Our friend and long-time collaborator Jørn Veberg, who has also shot our band pics and previous video, had the basic idea, but he needed a co-director to create some of the 3D animations. In January we finally found Colin McMahon, and from there on it was nothing but laughs. We met up and drank way too much beer and decided we wanted to do a Horror Zombie Movie. The actual shooting for us in the band took just a couple of hours; the real work is to be credited to Jørn and Colin. Now we just hope people enjoy it!"
"Headstone" appears on the band's self-titled debut, which was praised by Metal Hammer as "an innovative melding of Metallica and Garbage" and released in North America earlier this year. Engineered by Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames) and produced by Grammy winner Matt Hyde (Slayer, Children of Bodom), the album cracked the Top 10 in the band's home country and earned rave reviews from European media. The powerful vocals of Agnete Kjølsrud were singled out by Metal Hammer as "unique and fearless," likely one reason why Dimmu Borgir invited the former Animal Alpha singer to guest on their latest "Abrahadabra" album and appear in the music video for their song "Gateways."
DJERV will soon embark on a 20-date European tour. The band will play festivals several major festivals including Hellfest, Wacken, and Rock Harz, and will also be joining industrial icons Ministry as direct support on select dates. Heed Terrorizer magazine's claims that the band "are onto something big," and make sure to check out the video and see them on one of their upcoming dates below!
