Any recommendations for great games that feature knights, castles, and shit like that?

Watching/reading Game of Thrones has got me wanting to play a fantasy video game. I like RPGs, but I'm not in the mood for anything with spiky-haired cutesy Japanese warriors. Thinking of waiting for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition as I never played it back in the day. I've missed out on a lot of the classics.

fyi, I've got a PC, PS2, and Xbox classic at my disposal.

Play Heroes of Might and Magic III, you can get it at gog.com for like 5 bucks.
Other notable older but still fun as fuck titles:
Nox
Dungeon Siege
Diablo II
Icewind Dale I and II
Baldur's Gate I and II (You can download these at gog.com also and they have a widescreen mod to make it look amazing http://www.gibberlings3.net/widescreen/ - also works for PS:T and ID I and II)
Planescape torment

Or just play Hexen or Heretic (doom like games)

What did you end up choosing to play I wonder?

Oldschool: If you somehow haven't played Baldur's Gate (I & II) or Icewind Dale (I & II), get on that shit.

Also, Temple of Elemental Evil - just be aware that you'll literally have to install 3rd party patches to even get it to work. (Totally worth it, though.)

Unfortunately turn based is plagued with gay ass spikey haired n words, getting past some characters this day and age can be difficult due to the relative theorem of faggotry.

install original Dungeon Siege, then download the Ultima VI mod that runs on the Dungeon Siege engine. Have to run in XP compatibility mode, but worth it to revist a classic.

damn i'll have to try that.

I haven't tried the U6 one, but I have the Ultima V version. It's really fucking good.

What's the biggest differences between Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale?

toggletoggle post by DestroyYouAlot  at May 29,2012 12:05am
Icewind Dale is a) a little less character-driven (you create your own party, as opposed to dragging around NPCs) and b) a little crazier - it's definitely on "hardcore mode". You can't just barge through shit, you have to make regular trips back to town and not overextend yourself, or you get F'd in the A. (It's kind of like actual AD&D, that way.)
