Good stuff. But a little early for 2012.

toggletoggle post by Hoser at Mar 16,2012 7:11pm
Hey dude, I meant to tell you this.

So, I bought the Hail Spirit Noir album at your behest (Pneuma). Anyhow...I work 11pm to 7am, so I'm heading into work at 10pm and listen to the album in it's entirety. It actually put me into a trance-like state, so much that I thought that I may have actually passed my exit. I had to look down at the clock twice to make sure that I wasn't going to be late, and almost didn't recognize where the hell I was, even though I have driven the same road for years. Fucking weird as hell...seriously. The album is not only fucking awesome (to quote you), but absolutely trance inducing. This shit will put you into a musical coma.

love the new Cattle Decapitation. Also still spinning Beyond Creation although it's actually late 2011.

Dawnbringer - Into The Lair of the Sun God

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Jul 18,2012 11:19am
Trust is still way up there. Most Satanic record of the year and N-words don't even KNOW. Got new Nile and Dying Fetus albums I've barely made it through once; meanwhile, I can't stop playing this fucking TRST album.

New Gatekeeper isn't what I wanted but I *really* like it. Don't love it like I did "Giza" but it's a motherfucker.

Slag - do you know of anything else kind of like Trust that I might dig?

Mein Goat - There really isn't a lot out there with the same girth as TRUST. The only couple of acts that are putting or were putting out music in the similar vein would be fucks like Ladytron, Blouse and Cold Cave. There is a bunch of shitty german EBM out there as well, but it sucks. You might do yourself a favor and check out John Maus as well... it's like Joy Division dogplowed Nick Cave through a Fisher Price "My first tape player" bullshit.

The dude from TRUST also has a side project with some broad called AUSTRA. It's not bad, but it is not TRUST.

And such girth!!!

Love me some Ladytron. Trust definitely scratches that same itch but it also has that perv-factor that Scorpion Violente overwhelmed me with.

I've been digging on the "Valerie collective" stuff (College, Electric Youth, Futurecop) and shit like White Ring, Mitch Murder, Miami Nights 1984, Lazerhawk and the grand masters Daniele Baldelli and Beppe Loda. Never gets old. Speaking of which, Grace Jones "Warm Leatherette" is the pussycat's meow. She indulged in kilos of joyous powders with Baldelli at Baia Degli Angeli and it shows.

Not sure what of this I've mentioned enforce and plenty of it isn't 2012 but I smoke a lot of grass. Also, Spaceghostpurrp is phat as fuck and that Nicolas Jaar track with Demi and Bruce's daughter, Scout, has been dampening the loins of late. As has Frank Ocean.

Still haven't got around to checking out some recommendations I've gotten like Purity Ring, Die Selektion, Vatican Shadow, Lust for youth, Movie Star Junkies and Drexciya. John Maus is goin to the top o that list, though!

Accept is a good one. Stalingrad is great, but I feel like the last one (Blood of the Nation) was a little bit better overall.

Also:

Devin Townsend - Epicloud
