I just gotta say (and I realize Im responding to a troll here) but I think even the worst AC record (which Im not gonna say which one I think that is, im drunk but not THAT drunk) is better than Heartwork. Sure there's probably been worse records than Heartwork. But when you take into account how awesome a band was BEFORE they're shitty record came out...Naw dude. Heartwork is just horribible.
That is a seriously ignorant statement. I am not going to get into a big internet battle about someones personal taste, but to call it shit? come on now, what have you done that even touches that record, especially for the time?
If heartwork is your favorite Carcass record, then you're missing the point of Carcass.

i think everyone that likes heartwork is aware of the fact that carcass sounded completely different up to that album but that doesnt make it a bad album. COC were ahardcore band until Deliverence (or blind even) and that doesnt mean Deliverence sucks. In fact it kicks ass. Doesnt mean i dont like early COC too (although in this example..i kinda dont like early COC but thats just like...my opinion)
also..what bands/albums sound like heartwork? i wanna check them out.

Two different eras of carcass. One is grind and the other is death metal, there is no "missing the point"...pretty ridiculous thing to say. What about people who like death more than
Grind?
The point is they helped to pioneer a style of music and then started playing generic music, so most people would appreciate what they did that was groundbreaking, rather than the mediocre genre albums.
Hey hey hey!! If you want to bash heartwork, start a new thread! This thread is for kevord bashing ONLY. Also the phrase "worst AC record" implies there's a best AC record which is just hilarious.

I think Heartwork is well over mediocre

i just dont get the generic comment...i still dont know who or what else sounds like heartwork. We re not talking about slaughter of the soul here.

ha ha ha, I think they just became good musicians and decided to have a little more melody in their music. BTW, The music style on Necrotism is very close to that on Heartwork, I would say it was a natural step, and If you think that they made a concious decision to abandon the ROP era for Necrotism and Heartwork, you are nuts. SOS was among my favorite DM albums of all time, but Necrotism shattered that album for me, and by time heartwork came out, I was just into alot of other stuff that was comming out at the time, like all the BM and or Doom stuff, prolly the same as most people thought at that time.
My opinion.... AC have always been a horrible band. They sucked...always. There is definitely no best album. You can't get chicken salad from chicken shit.

REALLY?? Buy any Megadeth record and just tune the guitars to standard E. You got Heartwork. Its just downtuned Megadeth.

I'm not even questioning anyones opinion, I'm just pointing out the reasons why the average Carcass fan would hold the earlier records in higher regards.

COC huh, I remember Seth giving Pepper (or maybe it was one of the other COC guys, I donbt remember anymore) shit about them being soooooo gay lately (backin the deliverence era) and Pepper's response was " "let's see what kind of songs you write when you're 35"
I think we answered that. Even with our gay metal record we kicked their asses

This is a comendable comment, I can see your point. However that record is in no way shit, just like the last post, it very well may have spawned many other gay releases, but It was a quality release none the less.
What sucks is that we are all getting old ha ha ha. I miss those days.

I like both bands very much but I cant get down with that analogy.

i'm pointing out a spelling error, simply because "horribible" is an awesome word.
