I love how everyone is talking smack about Whitney Houston and saying she sucks. I'm not the biggest fan of that style of music but know talent when I hear it. Show some respect, you hacks. The woman could sing - had one of the best voices in the history of gospal/soul/pop.

TRUE KVLT THREAD

i'll admit she had a great voice, but i'll also admit i don't give a fuck that she died.

I guess sure, unfortunately she was a crackhead almost as long as she was a singer.

Talent levels are rendered obsolete by using them to create shitty music.

haha, I couldnt care less about her dying.

But it's funny how many people are calling her Shitney Houston and all this nonsensical bullshit. Metalheads: too cool for school

I doubt it's just metalheads that are saying these things. I'm sure most forums are making fun

She had a great voice and made a few great songs. Due to drugs and typical shelf life of pop stars, she probably wasn't going to make anymore good songs in her life. No great loss, she was already dead to me, but I would never say that she sucked.

As a side note, I find it funny how all popular musicians that die now are compared to MJ. "Her death comes as a tragedy, but Michael Jackson's death was the most important OF ALL TIME."

Definitely. She had more talent than 99.9% of the bands most of the brain dead idiots on this site drool over on a daily basis.

And she made music that was much less crappy than Dying Abortion or Northern Nachtwinter, or whatever unintelligible garbage with an illegible logo is the current hip name in the uber-cool world of "underground" metal.

Most of the hate is just misplaced jealousy and anger that all the "talent" discussed on this board will never get anyone anything more than a position at a fryolator at McDonald's and a permanent residence in their mom's basement.

There's a reason black and death metal music will never sell as well, or even be respected as legitimate music, like as Whitney Houston. It just plainly sucks, end of discussion.

Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? Did you know that, Arill? It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since, Elizabeth, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.

The difference should be fairly obvious. Whitney has a great voice, Q-Bert's voice sounds like a bag of donkey dicks turned inside out. When you actually have singing talent, you'll always be more successful.

Some have that talent, some don't. That's life. Bitch about it all you want and post stupid memes, it ain't changing the rules.

"amazing voice" is subjective.

So is your enjoyment of Quorthon though.

Look, I'm not defending Houston in the least. She let drugs take over her life and died because of it, and I wasn't a fan of her music either, so I could give a shit less that she's dead. With that said, expecting the general public, especially the AMERICAN general public to even acknowledge the death of someone who was never a part of pop culture, no matter yours or any other single person's feelings on the man's genius, is somewhat foolish.

I was WAY more offended by the outpouring of love for Steve Jobs when he died. The guy was an arrogant asshole, but everyone praised him after he died just for creating a cool gadget. Fuck that guy.

I really dont care about the media reaction. I thought that point was dumb myself. Im just sayin she wasn't that fucking great. Yeah, from a sanitized american idol point of view, she could sing. So can the chick in the church choir.
Id like to see her do something as groundbreaking as Under the Sign of the Black Mark
