Opinion on them? former deathcore-band gone blackmetal.
They have a decent fanbase.. But I will always remember them as a deathcore band with a girl keyboard player.
They did a reverse Cryptopsy... and for that, I can't take them seriously. Someone prove me wrong before I get banned in 24 hours.

I like the other (locals) on the bill but being the giant internet douchebag that I am, cant stand Abigail Williams only because of the style they hopped from.

meh, i'd take genre hoppers who play halfway passable homage to old bm sound over trendy slip-on sneaker experimental/ambient crap any day of the week.

if they're playing ralph's with other decent bands, i'll check it out. i'm sort of not caring whatsoever to actually listen to them until then.
When I saw them live last year they werent bad. But when I found out who it was, I pulled a u turn and laughed because being close-minded sometimes is fun.
the story behind the name is at least decent, but yeah the name itself does not grab me as stellar bwack metal.

i'm not gonna lie... i actually really like their newest album. i also like their second album. and their first album. their debut EP was gay for the most part. they are a solid band to listen to. they are sort of riding the trend wave and are now more like post-black metal/european folk/black stuff, if that makes any sense. they are good at what they do and you can't really knock them about their actual music... its well played and well produced and all very professional.
I could have sworn all their stuff was "black metal" or at least a poor attempt at it...shows how much I've paid attention to them. The material I thought I remembered hearing was boring as fuck.
Yea.. This wil be realky good promotion to the locals playing it. AW will bring a crowd. Props to chris for grabbing them and hosting them. my own opinions on them don't really matter, I just think its lulz how they changed styles, or at least changed their attempt
can someone take the liberty to post a youtube video of their EP music, then stuff from the new album? I'm on my phone and am too lazy.

LOL @ it being nearly impossible to find a youtube track from their opening EP, but it being easy to get their other stuff.

Who fucking cares? This is why this board sucks. People complain about music way too much. This band puts on a great show. Who the fuck cares what they used to sound like..its not relevant anymore.
Like I said, they put on a decent show when I saw them in PVD last year. But I had no idea it was them and cant take them seriously at all because of their history.
I saw them in 2006 at Marks showplace and it was a fucking joke.

I played nearly 50 shows on tour with AW a few years ago and have gotten to know several members of the band.
Ken knows his shit. Next to Decrepit Birth, he was the only person on the tour that could talk metal with me. He's tight with James Murphy who produces some ridiculous shit. I've never been into overproduced black metal, that's it.

I'm trying to remember if you were there but I distinctly remember giving my take on overproduced black metal to Revocanthony outside a show at the Somerville Elks as "A disembodied hand like Thing from the Addam's Family with a frilly lace sleeve playing a keyboard, then later finger banging pudgy goth groupie chicks with the same keyboard dexterity"
black twilight LA hipsters are just as gay as AW. Overhyped pretentious. I saw AW with Rotting Christ a year or so ago and like Aril didnt realize it was them. They were decent. I also saw them at Marks then and it was horrid. I made fun of them the entire time.
