you got that kinda money? i will give you even better then that. to many broke ass people around here. i can only do what i am paid to do. why did i have to fall in love with NewEngland?! oh yeah because the history and the land rocks. i will let you in on a little inside secret, the guys that do massive color bombs portraits give the work away practically free just to get to do it. if they waited for someone who could actually afford it, they would never get to do it. i just dont believe in giving it away.
you got that kinda money? i will give you even better then that. to many broke ass people around here. i can only do what i am paid to do.
This is the kind of attitude that makes you a shitty tattoo artist.
A good artist ISN'T going to lower the integrity of their body of work by doing less quality work for a lower price.
A good artist IS going to explain the way tattoos work and let the customer know that they don't feel comfortable doing something shittier- just because the customer can't afford an amazing tattoo. You know, perhaps even suggest to the customer that they come back another time when they do have their money together?
The fact that you just give the customer whatever you see fit is ignorant, and above all else, just fucking shameless.
If you have portraits that look better than that then post them. I want to see your INTERNATIONAL AWARD WINNING work. Specific pieces, articles in tattoo magazines, accolades, maybe a link to some prestigious tattoo convention you attended. Otherwise, you're just a fucking joke, because even the good work I've seen from you isn't that fucking great.
If you can prove me wrong, then please do so. If not, put down your fucking gun and turn the sign to closed, you are a disgrace.

you are in the wrong. i cater to the poor as well as the rich. the poor have portraits because i make myself affordable to them. it is the most expensive tattoo work you can get. that is the award winning work your looking at. you have a right to dislike it. doesn't stop me from being booked for weeks in advance. i cant scan my awards but they are proudly displayed in my shop. come check them out. get an eye full. I have three work portfolios. the thickest one is made up only of published work and zine interviews i have made. i am done doing conventions but i began them when paul booth was unheard of and he sat in a booth next to mine twiddling his thumbs, while i tattooed away. yes he was just as fat then. you are entirely welcome to come and look over my vast portfolios and winnings. its really impressive. i dont do better work for more money and shitty work for less money. it takes more time to do better work. time and money most customers dont have. so i do the best i can for them for the money they got. i dont give it away like a fool. my work has worth and its my living. you are a stupid shit bag.... but dont worry i dont expect much from many here.

That doesn't make much sense seeing how you just said this earlier:

Haha, way to get butt hurt over some slang.
What if I called it an iron? Would that make you feel better?
For all you know I could be a professional tattoo artist... with... OMMYGAWD, a portfolio that far outweighs yours.
if you were a tattooist you would make a poor example of one. professional tattooists do not shit talk other professionals.even if they are direct competitors. its unethical in the industry. shit talk the bums all you want. but my work is to well recognized to be effected by your shit mouth. thats how i know your not one of us. the Metal scene here should be the same. unity.
I got a sleevefrom ray. Its supreme and detailed work!! I paid fir none of it...it was recording studio bartering. His work wasnt tried for not being paid. to the above poster...use a real log in. Or it just goes to show youre afraid of the interweb

Raynard, I'm not saying that all of your work is bad. I'm just saying the majority of it, especially the portraits, are mediocre at best.
Also, I just think you have a piss poor attitude to begin with. Anytime anybody says anything that isn't sucking up to you, you proceed to act like a child in a toy aisle of a department who can't get the GI Joe he wants.
I personally can't think of any tattoo artist that has ever acted out in the way that you have. Somebody doesn't like your work? So what? You are a "respectable business man" right? Fucking act it and stop acting like an entitled little bitch who thinks he is the best thing to happen to the tattoos since the 45-degree angle.
P.S. Nobody is missing out. New England is full of excellent tattoo shops and artists, only The TaTTomB isn't one of them.
i personally know people who have paid surprisingly low prices for some of the most jaw-dropping work i've ever seen. and it wasn't at the Tatboob by a toothless dickhole.

Oh right, because people don't have completely different styles with characteristics unique to the individual.
Please show me at least FIVE (that's 5, ya fucking moron) of your BEST pieces. I want to see what you are most proud of.
There is really no excuse for you not to do this. You do own a tattoo shop, so I would assume you would own a scanner and/or a digital camera. You've either already uploaded the pictures onto a computer somewhere or you have them in one of your wonderful portfolios that you can just scan in.

So does my work still look like shit? Ive been published in multiple books concerning tattoos, won awards at tattoo conventions and also been featured in numerous magazines as well.
Instead of just trashing your work, I want to be the better man and give you some critiques. First off your grey shading isn't as smooth as it could be for your portraits, do you mix your own or do you buy premade stuff like silverback Ink?
Also if you look at photographs of faces, there aren't hard lines there. Same goes for tattoo portraits. Stay away from literal hard lines in them. Also take your time on them, don't rush those pieces. They look like they've been done in a rush.
Also try to photograph healed tattoos, especially black and grey, because of all of the redness from it is really hard to see the true tones in them.
Also I've seen work from you that has been done way to small and won't hold up well over time. Remember bigger is better, smaller means bleeding together and just eventually a big ol blob.
Your comment about copying work is so incredibly insulting to the tattoo community. If you pride yourself on being a custom tattoo artist, it would be in your best interest not to tell people you can COPY stuff. Thats not custom tattooing. All that is just a glorified flash artists stealing other people's tattoos.

nobody here is rushing to compliment me at all. minus Geminii. thanks bro. but i dont need it. i know my worth. so if i seem a little defensive. its for good reason. but you really should do your research. The TaTToomB is a highly regarded shop regardless of what you think.

you dont get me. when i say copy work, i mean i can copy any ones style. like the work you have on you. fine, money well spent. but you easily could have gotten just as good a work from me. you just didnt come to me. only difference. i dont get paid enough to do work like that to often. did he practically give it away to you? did you barter trades>? probably did. that work would cost more then what most can pay around here. its nothing i couldnt do. thats all i am saying. can he draw like me? thats the question.
post by Somebody that gets good tattoos at Jan 12,2012 6:09pm
Dude, you are so full of shit. SO FULL OF IT.
You can't draw like that. You can't tattoo like that.
If you have EVER done anything REMOTELY close to those above pictures, post it.

Funny, I did my research and all I come across is yellowpage esque sites and shit that you posted. NOTHING ELSE.
Oh wait, I found a webzine where you said this:
Phill – How long has your shop been going at the moment and have you had any memorable moments since you’ve had the shop open?
Raynard – Yeah it’s been going strong for nearly six years now. The economy is bad here for many fucked up reasons but we have somehow got around it. We have taken a cut in work but still doing well. Stores have closed down around us so we know we are doing something right but it still sucks to see your down town neighbours suffer. Yeah if the walls of this shop could talk i would be forced to sew its lips shut! Very incriminating shit took place here. Sometimes still does. If my customers knew the things that happened on the waiting room couch they would rather sit on the floor. HA! Hey, i clean up afterwards!
That's good to know, you fuck. Sterile shop? Your wife's nigger loving cunt has been all over that couch.

I do get you. Style is EVERYTHING in custom tattooing. I go to specific well known artists because they have a specific style. I wouldn't want someone to rip of anothers style, like you are hinting at being able to do. Whether or not you admit it you tattoo in a very specific style and have really not seen any piece that branches out of what you do.
There is no way I could of gotten this nice of work from you, if you could do this work, wouldn't you be booked out solid and well known like these guys are? Also, what I paid has absolutely no factor into how good my tattoos are.
You are so stubborn about how "good' you think your tattooing is, you haven't shown any sort of signs of progression in your art for years. The reason why I know is I got tattooed by Davey at the Tattoomb years ago, and you had been such an incredible asshole to me after the fact I never stepped foot in there again. And actually got that piece lasered off because of such a bad taste you had left in my mouth. Great business practice huh?

Your slogan should be "Tattoomb, where tattoos go to die!"
blacks have no right sinking ink. it is not a black art. they are meant for scarring only. i mastered tattooing blacks a long time ago. but the skin type is normally unfriendly to fine tattooing. scars to easily. colors dont show up well. especially colors that do not combine well with shades of brown. blacks mutilate skin as tribes. they dont work with ink as a custom. thats a white trait for white folk. but have at it. it wont look good. try to get that info from a P.C. fag artist.
Raynard, you are the biggest full of shit loser and your posts are some of the worst ive ever read, maybe you should take a hint at all the negative feedback you get here and stop posting such garbage
