Sludge fiends FISTULA have pulled themselves up out of the gutter they call home and hooked up with Boston's mighty Patac Records to release the Loser EP. This brand-new 12" is due out in September.

According to Fistula ringleader Corey Bing, “It’s very dark and sad, twisted humor, dense, heavy, tuned LOW. It sounds like THE HOUNDS: old metal, VENOM style with GBH undertones. It sounds like DEATH playing hopscotch with the apocalypse while finger-bangin’ AUTOPSY.”

The six-song record features the band's trademark sickening guitar tone, agonized vocals, and wretched attitude, worshipping as always upon the bloodstained altars of CELTIC FROST, WINTER, EYEHATEGOD and BUZZ*OVEN

At the heart of Fistula are guitarist/main man Corey Bing (who sings, plays guitar, and/or drums on some releases, depending on who’s flaking out at the moment) and bassist Bahb Branca, the toxic twins of sludge metal, blood brothers who have been to hell and back together. They started the band in 1998, and live a little cave in Cleveland, Ohio called The Fistula House. And, yeah, being the good guys in a world of shit, they have problems. We won’t name names, but a quick look at these guys’ lives over the last year, and it’s like the kind of shit you’d hear at a 12-step meeting. Divorce. Dependency. Depression. Destruction. Shit just got worse.
Some people hammered away at Fistula like they were trying to make ‘em quit. But they didn’t. The band is back. Holy shit, are they back.

“We had our ups and downs,” says Bing. “But shit is ON."

PANZERBASTARD - Gods, Thugs & Madmen

Boston's PanzerBastard return and are more pissed off than ever with the upcoming EP 'GODS THUGS AND MADMEN.' PB deliver five ferocious tracks that shoot to kill and take no prisoners. If you enjoy the classic mixture of MOTORHEAD, DISCHARGE and SODOM, this record is for you!

STRONG INTENTION - Razorblade Express EP

Holy shit! This comeback record from Maryland grindcore staples STRONG INTENTION is going to tear the boundaries set up by the seemingly endless onslaught of bullshit grind/powerviolence that saturates the extreme music scene.
RAZORBLADE EXPRESS is a unique experience, not only does the EP rip through your turntable at break-neck speed, the title track is filled with filthy sludge-core riffing that sounds like an unhealthy cocktail of EYEHATEGOD mixed with DROPDEAD.
Oh, and did I mention EYEHATEGOD frontman MIKE IX WILLIAMS guest vocals on two tracks, STEVE AUSTIN from TODAY IS THE DAY does a guitar lead and features bass from Derek of CATTLE DECAPITATION?

This record drops in October, so get fucking ready to grind your head in!

DECEASED - SURREAL OVERDOSE On Sale for only $7.99! click here to stream/order
Virginian death/thrash metal veterans metal DECEASED will head back into the studio this year to record “Surreal Overdose”, their first full-length of all-new material since 2005′s “As The Weird Travel On”. The long-running metal maestros have kept the faith since 1985, summoning a slew of cult releases and building up an immensely dedicated fanbase that has followed the band merrily into hell and back. Now, at the dawn of 2011, King Fowley and his band of ‘bangers have returned!

Fowley will return to the drum kit for this recording, handling both drums and vocals. The band will welcome in longtime live member Shane Fuegel on guitar (replacing longtime axeman Mark Adams who retired from music in 2007), while Mike Smith continues on studio guitar alongside longtime bassist Les Snyder.

“Surreal Overdose” will be recorded at Assembly Line Studios in Virginia with Kevin Gutierrez engineering and Fowley producing. The CD will be issued in the U.S. via the band’s own label, Shrieks From The Hearse Records, alongside PATAC Records.

EXECUTIONER - ANTHOLOGY clicke here to stream/order

California hardcore punk cult classics EXECUTIONER will be releasing a career-spanning discography collection via Boston bruisers PATAC Records. The Anthology CD features the band’s entire 1982 recorded output, painstakingly restored and remastered on one convenient compact disc or digital download! Comes housed in a foldout Crass Records-styled sleeve with a full poster and extensive liner notes that provide an inside look at what was going on at the time in the 1982 San Jose hardcore scene.

EXECUTIONER played with bands like DEAD KENNEDYS, BAD BRAINS, CRUCIFIX, FANG, etc. but never had any official releases besides a handful of tracks on a skate cassette released by THE FACTION called ‘Growing Pains.’ This CD compiles all studio, demo, ‘Growing Pains’ tracks as well as live recordings, and features artwork by Winston Smith (DEAD KENNEDYS, LARD, GREEN DAY, ALTERNATIVE TENTACLES, etc.)

RAWHIDE - BRANDED FOR LIFE
Patac Records are gearing up to release the brand new 7" from Rawhide, 'Branded For Life.' The band hails from Sweden and plays death-punk'n'roll in the vein of Turbonegro, Gluecifer, etc. (featuring members of Bestial Mockery, Kill and Protector).

It was announced in June that Rawhide signed with Patac Records. Fans of Turbonegro, loose chicks, booze and drugs rejoiced to this extravagant news.

RAMPANT DECAY/KRUDS Split EP

San Antonio, TX teeth clenching powerviolence misfit burnouts Kruds and Providence, RI beer-soaked anti-everything crossover six man tag champions OF THE WORLD Rampant Decay come together for about ten minutes of loud fast chaotic tributes to hating and killing yourself.

INSULT/RAMPANT DECAY SPLIT EP

This split offers up a handful of tracks from two of Boston\'s finest. Insult have been kicking around since the early 90\'s, and they haven\'t changed much. They\'re still kicking out rapid fire, whiplash hardcore tunes. Fans of Siege, Deep Wound, and SSD will dig the band\'s old school, speed for the sake of speed approach, which never really hits the pace of grindcore or powerviolence, but still packs a mean wallop due to its raw intensity. They offer up six songs in under four minutes, ending with the midtempo “Diddler On Patrole”, which sounds closer to Black Flag, and is the longest track, clocking in at just under a minute and a half.

Rampant Decay are a newer act, forming in 2006, and their sound is even more aggressive and abrasive. They mix elements of grind, thrash, crust punk, and sludge into a colossal blender and spew out short, well constructed anthems for these shattered times. They contribute three distinct tracks to their side of the split, and each has its own defining moment. “Apocalypterian” juxtaposes blasts and chainsaw guitars with slowed down sludge, while “Pigshit” is characterized by its infections breakdown. “I Wish All My Friends Were Dead” brings more of a Discharge influence to the table, before exploding into blasts for the grand finale.
All in all, this is a cool split with an old school vibe that reminds me of seven inch splits of lore, from “back in the day.” While Insult definitely have that throwback vibe to them and will appeal to those who loved the This Is Boston, Not LA comp, Rampant Decay seem to have more modern sensibilities, and I can see them winning over some fans from the extremephiles that frequent this site. Recommended.
