Takashi Miike directed samurai revenge film. Exactly one instance of cgi, no wire-fu, a beautiful simmering build to the insane final act and one of the greatest villains in film history.
Yeaaaaah, this movie ruled. Watched it last night on Netflix. It's nice to see a legit martial arts movie that isn't all fake blood and bullshit fighting scenes. Swordplay is seriously legit, and the villain in this movie is no joke.
