this was all squeezed into 4 channels anyway. that is the challenge with making chiptunes. i could make this way better and fix a few mistakes in the melody and drums, but don't care enough to so. it's not like this is going to be released on anything.
that would be simple for me to if you wanted to. all I'd have to do is strip the drum track. not quite sure how this would sound with actual drums.. The music might sound a little empty. I could put distortion on the melodies I guess. Who knows, that would be really fun to experiment with
We could do one mic on the snare, 1 overhead, and the trigger signal direct... and of course mix those signals together before bouncing to your pc... i don't think i'd even need toms, i feel like this stuff would be better with just DB, snare, hihat, ride.
Well, I already have about 20 minutes of stuff. I'm gonna do one more, tweak a few others and let you know. Can you record or would we have to go somewhere?
I could TRACK it(digital 8 track) but you'd need software to import the sounds...or we could put the drum tracks through one of the pa heads i have, then out of the "aux out" to a 1/8 inch converter.. into your mic in on your pc... you do have one of THOSE right? It might even help the sound work together if all of the drums are being pushed through a headphone jack. hmmm. I could use a really cool trigger sound for this too.
deal. lets do that. I definitely have enough mics, chords, and adapters to make the whole "drum tracks bounced down to one track, and sent through an 1/8 jack" thing. So....
fucking awesome. I can't wait to record this.... Is this even possible to do live? Or would it just be you standing in front of your laptop with me playing my drums? Cause i would be down for even that.

this song sounds cool, but hopefully this "aril" character wont choose to start a black metal band cuz that would totaly sound like a bunch of beeps and whipperclipper sounds.
Jim, would you be open to trying drums on a few non-chiptune songs?
Yes. Especially if we could do the 1/8" jack into your pc. The sound quality would be suspect, BUT it would be so easy that we could take our time in my place getting it right?
