I'm trying that now, but my connection is really slow. The neighbors must be streaming all kinds of shit or something. Whenever their home my shit slows to a crawl.
That's okay. Yesterday it sounded like they were listening to a chick flick wicked loud, so I hopped on my e-drums and pounded along with the new Human Abstract for like an hour. EAT IT BANDWITH WHORES.
Sorry, tanjent. I may or may not be high.
Point being, song is awesome, I'm halfway through on HD - at the part where you play the drum fill from wipeout, but now I want details. Where is it recorded, how, and with what kind of fun goodies did you record it?
awesome. John, I can tell you've been practicing a lot. Everything sounds sick, and original. Then again, I really liked Darkwor too... but this is way better, and tighter. FACTBOMB

It's all Slag's doing. talk to him
Thanks gents. We didn't do anything out of the ordinary to record this. Recorded all the instruments at my studio in downtown Worcester. Mixed on my setup at my house. All the electronic parts were created using VST based synthesis. Shaken and stirred.

you assholes can't make your minds up. One week i'm told that Darkwor is working on new stuff.... then that you're breaking up and doing other stuff... then you're playing again... WFT do you think this is?

Okay, gimme the good version now that takes up a half page.
Amps?
What did you use for drums?
What did you mix on? Console, in-the-box, both?
I'm a huge geek, I wanna know it all.
And since Aril is out resident conspiracy nut, I propose:
New Abaroth was timed as a distraction so the US secret society could wipe out Japan with the HAARP station. I actually have evidence this time, since last night a large portion of the google map near the HAARP array seems to have been blacked out.
O.K., try to deny it Aril. We know you're part of the new world order.

I've got no comment on this accusation. :-X
..and weren't you one of the ones who used to get angry at the nonsense I'd post? HAARP is the real deal, though. So is EISCAT (remember the Norway Sprial?) and all the other tesla death rays around the world.

if you really care that much, the guitar I used for this was a BC Rich Masterpiece Bich with upgraded pickups (can't remember what the dude did to it before I bought it from him). Looks like this but with cloud inlays:
my setup is a Peavey Valveking head (came with better tubes when I bought it.. again though, can't remember, nor do I care really) with a Hughes and Kettner Vortex cab.
For pedals on this recording I used:
-Maxon OD808
-Digitech X Series Digidelay
- Boss Chorus Pedal
- Boss Reverb Pedal
I have a bunch of other pedals but I'm not quite sure if I'm going to use them for this project.
I'm not really a gear junkie and have limited knowledge about stuff. I can tell you all about Impulse Tracker, but barely anything about guitars and amps, other than what sounds good to me hahaha.
The other guitar player used a Genz Benz El Diablo and just got a Vader cab, although I don't think the cab was used on this recording. Slag would know.
All ITB. Very little compression across the board. Maybe -6db on the Bass. I used a bunch of parallel compression on the drums. Minimal 2-buss compression, a tiny bit of saturation on the master buss. A Little eq. During the long drone parts, my intent was to get it sounding a bit like the wall of sound type deal parts ala 1990's shoegaze/britpop phase while not losing the edge. All and all, it was a really fun song to mix. I look forward to the rest of the songs. And pizza.
that would be a great description on a show flyer. if i never heard of the band before and saw a flyer with that as a band description i would definitely look them up after and be all like "i'll be the judge of that"

when you play live, make sure Xammael always wears a HoV shirt like in the above pic. I dont even have a copy of that shirt! Cult limited Albrecht Durer art!
taking into consideration that abaroth won't play out that often, I'm considering starting a simple death/doom or perhaps thrashy band that satisfies my need to play live. granted, I don't have a completely free schedule, but I enjoy playing live shows. when abaroth first stopped playing live in 2005, I didn't play out again for another 3 years, until herugrim. and now it's approaching the 3 year mark for herugrim's last show as well. it really humbles you as a musician when you haven't played shows in sometime; I miss it greatly. if herugrim never gets back into fruition as a live band, i'm heavily considering a few projects and hunting for a few members.
slag and i have been busy with DW and non music stuff, and i know you and josh have been busy as hell, and the next thing to do is record, something that we all need to be there for and none of us have been able to find a day to do that, so we should probably plan something

i.e. everybody clear an entire sabbath and go down there.
Uploaded an unreleased Abaroth track from 2004-2005 after I initially left the band. This was recorded with Tor on drums, who is now the frontman for the band Elder. The production ain't great, but oh well. let me know if anyone wants the mp3.
