I'm sorry, I gave up soda like 9 years ago.
I will try to be at this show around 8pm, but I heard it doesn't really start until 9pm.
Is there a spike's right around the corner? |
yes...remember http://www.riroads.com/archive/junkyard.htm
Of all five locations, the most daring is Spike's at 723 Thayer Street (401/454-1459). Their top dog has eaten no less than 17, while Spike's in Cranston is a close runner up with 13 hot dogs. |
haha carina, your knowledge of the dog amazes us all |
yep, she sure knows how to work a plump hotdog. |
EVERYONE SHOULD GO TO THIS SHOW! |
I guess technically I'm heading off to this now.
shopping for wood then to the metal |
spalding.....are you going......i dont get it |
There is a Spike's down near Club Hell (formerly Club Babyhead) on Richmond Street, it's right down the street from the PPAC.

Killer show, rottonsound wore their blood, did a carcass cover. Plenty o' pit'n. Thanks to Ann for putting on another good show. |
I seriously dont get how fast Rotten Sounds drummer is. I dont care... he wasnt real... |
I'm back.
pictures in minutes. |
seriously man, that shit was ridiculous. |
Great show!
ROTTEN SOUND's vocalist is the best, so deep and killer sounding.
Great turnout, Anne said 160 paid at the door + like 30 on the guestlist.
We need more killer shows like this and the scene will benefit from it.

the nightmare continues: they played on the floor so their wasn't much room to move there. lot of tight places to squeeze into. they were able to move around a lot more at this show (compared to vital remains) cause they could actually hear things. the old thing this time is that the bass player was missing and a guitarist gave it up and filled in on the bass.
strong intention: they were missing a member as well. I couldn't really hear the vocals to see if they sounded like the cds, but I noticed that the riffs were really old school. a few of them sounded like old slayer or suicidal tendencies. they also had hardcore change ups and blast beats. interesting mix.
phobia: no samples at all, but whatever. their set was really impressive. the drummer was so fast. the crowd really got in to the performance.
rotten sound: they came out covered in blood (like an iraqi prisoner). they played a bunch of old tracks and new tracks. I didn't really like the vocals on the new tracks, sounded too much like the haunted and not enough like "murder works". Then they played a bunch of old songs and the vocals were super deep and sounded just like the cd. they ended with carcass track.. it was one I didn't really know, I think they said "ruptured In purulence", but I'm not sure. |
It was Reek of Putrefaction. |
it's me, uncle frank
Yiff!
Oh man, that was one of the best times I had at a show in a long time. Every single band was amazing. I didn't think Rotten Sound would wear the blood. They usually do but I had a gut feeling that they wouldn't this time, I was wrong. They played Reek Of Putrefaction that was off the Carcass Tribute album. Phobia was just sick, amazing mosh. |
that show was fricken awesome.........it was soo good i got a headache and i could barely even drive home.....thanks spalding.....i heart u |
They were covered in blood last night my legs are covered in bruises right now (stage marks)! What a fucking great night! I couldn't believe Rotten Sound, the drummer is so unbelievable...Phobia ruled but I was still doing the door so it was headbing standing on a chair!
All of them were very psyched about the show and we had a good night hanging out!
Thank you to all of you who came last night! Lot of chicks too, that's great.

the last comment posted by "me" was brendan. my assessment of the show:
i don't know how many times i said "oh my god, i can't belive how fucking great that show was". it was seriously the best show i've ever been to, and i'm amazed that i had the chance to be a part of it. Ann (and Ben) thank you so much for that. The bands were awesome, all super nice guys, and the food was great too. and the other thing, that i tried to refuse...greatly appreciated. huge turnout. a perfect night. that was definitely the best crowd response we've gotten yet, and we made some good contacts too! this is what it's fucking all about man.
i do believe i'll be hitting up sunday's show at the block too.

I do believe we'll be hitting the show as well, maybe we should try to get a whole crew going up there, we're taking the van, so there's room. We're making new shirts for Rotten Sound so they'll have one more design on Sunday! |
someone make me and alicia and george and geary fake ID's... i REALLLY want to see Rotten Sound again... |
where are tehy playing today? |
I think The Choppin' Block show will sellout, but it is a 21+ 6pm show, so who knows?
who's booking the Chopping Block show? |
No clue, I think Joe from Notcommon knows the kid that booked it.

Be at the store at 3:30, we're leaving around 4, Shauna is coming to close so I can bail anytime after she's here. |
I am leaving at 3:30 - have to fill my tank (ouch!) and drive 80 miles to Boston.
yea.....rotten sound is one of those bands i could watch for like 2 hours no problem.......strong intention and phobia were awesome too......and thenightmarecontinues always impresses me......i think this was probably one of the better shows i've been to, minus the migraine i got half way through the show
