DEVIN TOWNSEND Releases Free Five Song EP; Issues Update on 'Deconstruction'

DEVIN TOWNSEND has been one of the leaders of the progressive moment since he first picked up a guitar. He is held in the highest regards of metal fans around the world, as has been seen by the incredible fan fare that surrounded last year's 'Addicted' and the touring that surrounded it. Now Devin has multiple albums and touring in the works for 2011 and is ready to kick things off.

First of all, a free five-song acoustic EP has been made available for download online. Featuring the tracks "Supercrush," "Kingdom," "Truth," "Om," and "By Your Command," the EP can be downloaded at the following location.

DEVIN TOWNSEND is also hard at work on two albums that are slated for 2011 releases, 'Deconstruction' and 'Ghost'. This guy rules so much. I haven't seen him enough. I saw DTB twice and SYL once. Unfortunately I missed his headlining show back in October.

It's actually a LIVE EP, not an acoustic EP. It's from the Baltimore show in 2010 during Devin's first tour since his "hibernation." Good stuff, and great sound quality for a live recording.

I've been listening to the Ki and Addicted albums recently, the dude is brilliant, this EP is good too, the live version of By Your Command from the Ziltoid album is solid. Such intense music.

Dev is my hero. SYL and Punky Bruster etc.. I wish i could even do a fraction of what this guy does.

If I ever had a punk band, Punky Bruster is what I'd want it to sound like. And here's Devin just doing this punk thing for shits. Not even his realm...
