Can't wait for this fucking game tonight - we already have proven we can beat them in LA - I'm just hoping with a thin team (and especially front court) we won't get beat tonight. If memory serves, no: Shaq, Erden, JO, Delonte, or Marquis - and Paul Pierce had a cold/flu that kept him out of practice yesterday!

And let's not forget that Ray Allen WILL be breaking the 3-point shooting record tonight!

I'll go out on a limb here and say Ray breaks the record in the second quarter tonight - any takers?

Reggie Miller will give him a hug

i hope i can watch the record break before heading to ralphs.

I hope they stop the game and retire his number after he does it. Just kidding. Ray Allen really is the definition of an athlete though - a total class act, and an incredible basketball player. Gonna be fantastic to see him do this at home versus the Lakers.

Anyone else amped for the 3-point contest next weekend with Ray and Pierce?! Better be them in the finals!

Ray Ray > Reggie

I yelled so loud in my apartment when he made the shot. Really happy for the guy and he's been a tremendous clutch player for the Celtics.

I freaked too. You know, I really don't like making excuses or whatever but we had 1 center to work tonight and a limited backcourt to boot. We absolutely lost this game, no excuses - but it really doesn't worry me in the long term.

I am curious to see what becomes of this Marquis Daniels situation though. Not sure what we can actually do on the trade front before the deadline to get a backup wing. Heres to hoping Rip gets bought out or Danny pulls off a miracle if 'Quis can't come back.

The Lakers are only like 1-6 against the elite teams this season. If the Celtics face them again the postseason, I think they'll take care of them.

Yeah and that "1-6" stat is pretty funny too cause I'm pretty sure that "elite win" came against Chicago who've been banged up all season as well. LA isn't scaring anybody this year, that's for sure - if they turn it around in the Playoffs, which I'm sure could be possible a la Celtics last year, we might be talking a different ball game - but it's yet to be proven that they can beat a fully healthy team.

No, that win came against the Celtics last night. They haven't beaten an elite team until last night.

toggletoggle post by LPCustom at Feb 11,2011 1:36pm
I'm pretty sure after they beat the Cs last night it made them 2-6 against "Elite Teams". We should look this up, I could be totally wrong here but I'm like 99% positive they split the series with Chicago.

The Celtics were down to 9 players last night after Nate went out injured...that was NOT the Celtics out there

No Shaq, Jermaine, Semih, Nate, Daniels, or Delonte = a VERY banged up team...as Dale Arnold said earlier today, if Avery Bradley is seeing the court in a game against the Lakers and Von Wafer is playing 19 minutes, you have issues

Yeah, see...

"The Lakers are 1-3 against the top three teams in the Eastern Conference, losing to the Celtics and Miami Heat once apiece and splitting two games with the Chicago Bulls."

Ok. That makes sense. For some reason they were showing on TBS that the Lakers were 0-5 against the "elite teams".
