So I went to see the Genitorturers on wednesday in some ghetto in NY. Got to chill with them cause msnastia is friends with them and shit. So that was cool. Gen is rather nice. Before the show started I met the bassist and minutes AFTER I find out that he is David Vincent. I was like holy shit!!! I had no idea. The show was rather bad ass. Gen (singer) pulled two lolly pops out some chicks twat and licked them then gave them to the audience. GOOD SHOW!

Anyways, yeah David (Evil D) looks quite different from his Morbid angel days. Some fans might be dissapionted. and I'm sure some here don't care for the Genitorturers. But it was a good time non the less.

Comical to say the least. Yeah, Vincent had absolutely nothing to do with Morbid Angel being one of the most prolific, talented and inspiring bands in Death Metal ever. I bet Eric Rutan had everything to do with it. Maybe the only reason MA are were they are today is because of some well planned out tours with pantera and such that got them some mainstream exposure so all the Hot Topic gothic monkeys would think they were so underground. If you think that Heretic or FFttF are anywhere near as great and classic as Blessed and Covenant than some synapse in your brain isn't firing. FFttF and Heretic (gateways was tolerable) were by far the most yawn inducing albums I have heard in a while.

David Vincents vocals were amazing on Covenant and Domination...angry and distinct and a hell of a lot better than the majority of bands in the genre. I wouldn't say he made Morbid Angel or that he's a great guy but who cares?

i wonder if age or who was singing at the time you first got into morbid factors into this. i got blessed are the sick the week it came out. me and everyone that i know who liked MA back then prefer Vincent over Tucker. i'm not saying that i'm right, or that this makes old MA better, just an observation/question? anyone?

I disagree with anyone that says David Vincent always sucked. Wasnt he one of the first vocalists of his kind? Even he did suck back then, lots of people learned from his mistakes Hahaha but like I said I dont think he sucked.

I like Gateways but it is easily there worst. The vocals are AWESOME on Blessed and Altars and above average on covenant and Domiantion. Theres nothing special about Steves voice. There are 30 thousand bands that sound just like him. Its all about preference I guess, and I prefer songs like Fall From Grace and Chapel of Gouls to songs like I.

On the contrary, Vincent was a significant part of the band. Most of the earlier songs were written by Trey and Orchestrated by Vincent. That is why when he left you can hear the difference in the song structures. They don't suck or anything it is just different and people from the old-school can tell. It lacks something but we can't seem to put our fingers on it.

Oh since we are on the topic of MA, did you know before the recording of Heretic, David was asked to come back. So they jammed for a month before he wanted to start slowing things down and changing this and that. So Pete and Trey said no that is alright. So they asked Steve back in. Then on some more thinking a week later David called them back and said I 'm in and won't change anything. By then though it was too late, they had already gotten Steve back. So I guess David is pissed right now at the whole band. Just read this. The article also read hinting that Steve might be around for the"I" MA cd. So you know who may be asked back....just a hint, don't know if it is true or not?
