there doesn't look like there's a lot of parking around this place.
anyone ever play here before?
There is a small lot behind the club. There is a big flatscreen in the club dedicated to the camera back there because it is in such a respectable neighborhood.
Only writing an entire album based around a rhyme scheme with the words" go away" "stay away" "keep away from maaaay"and then writing a song called "I stand alone" is real.

I lol'd at the above post.
Would be nice if the show would start at some point because I'm getting pretty sick of the Palladium metal jukebox here
David Carradine was pretty fun. I'm not sure if they needed two singers.
Misanthropic Noise was fantastic and loud. Sound guy didn't approve.
Soundguy brought his bad mood to our set. Told us to shut the fuck up. Told us to not piss him off.
Guy acted wicked tough to tyler and tim after I left. Anyone else ever deal with the people at The Raven like this before?
Everyone else at that venue was great, and I really liked the place. That douche just needs to GTFO.

Yeah I could tell that guy was a shithead when Misanthropic Noise was soundchecking...
"We need the guitar up a little more" "You guys are already wicked loud"
Really?
Other than that I'd support more shows here because all four bands sounded the best I've ever heard them and it's not some bullshit place like the El 'n' Gee that adds bands to shows randomly. So even with the sound guy and the cock rock motif, I'd go here any time.

the Raven needs to trade places with the Midway Cafe.
The Raven soundguy was really nice to us when we played there with Wastelander and Skull Hammer and that other band that stole their name from World of Warcraft

In fact, said "band" was asked politely twice to not play their music while the instruments were being miked. It was only after being told twice and having symbols and whatnot played directly in ones face that they would, naturally, cop an attitude. Then the said "band" decides to destroy $1500.00 of sound equipment because they had to be told what to do. Music Venues are not daycare centers, they should be respected as well as the people that work there.
Dear "Anonymous", otherwise known as "fuckface soundouche from the raven that can't spell to save his life",
Half of said "band" are trained audio engineers working in places that wouldn't let you through the front door, nevermind near their equipment. You're on the clock, it's your responsibility to keep your cool. Grow up and be a professional.
You wanna talk about needing a daycare center? How about throwing around MY equipment after I helped you break down mics, then giving me attitude after calling you out on it. You're lucky that we're a mature bunch--you pull that on another band (or us on a drunker night) and you'd leave your gig without teeth.
If there is anything else that needs to be settled, email us at Hivesmasher@gmail.com and we'll figure out a way to make sure everyone leaves with a smile.
Wrong anonymous chap. Don't politely ask people to be quiet by telling them to shut the fuck up initially. You get more bees with honey.
Secondly, "destroy"? Wrong again son. With all the cameras pointed at the stage, look back on your tapes and you'll see nothing was destroyed. I lifted the monitor to get at my set list under it. It was already on the edge and slid off. It took a tiny tumble and was hardly "destroyed".
In summation, maybe if you didn't act like an irrational little girl who missed her bedtime and daddy's cock in her mouth, maybe you would have seen things in a different light instead of posting anonymously trying to rally troops onto your side.
We did nothing wrong and if anything is broken, it wasn't done in a malicious fashion. If you say there's no security cameras on the stage to prove me wrong, then I'm a white millionaire.

I think INTHESHIT, Rampany Decay, Hivesmasher, Blood of the Gods and Panzerbastard need to do a show out that way soon.
post by AndrewBastard at Dec 7,2010 9:43pm
we played there once...i was shitfaced and barely remember it but dont recall any BS with the sound guy.
That place has a sound limit. Most times someone from the city shows up with a decibel meter to make sure it is within what they are allowed to put out, which sucks more balls than the parking situation.
Sean that show would do really well at Oasis where we don't have said douchey attitudes or equipment worth getting butthurt over.

i remember watching Attake and then puking
Was it pete? Red beard? The only time I played there was with him and I know him through doing sound at the lucky dog and ralphs. He's way cooler than this brid sounds.

no promo.
all those bands show up to play for this son of a bitch and really make it a point to trash some shit. I would certainly make an attempt to be a real ass hole for that occasion.

Hey you know how I roll when I'm having a goodtime at shows so let's get this shit booked.

naw, no beard. wicked gaunt looking face though.
Eric from Ralph's showed up for a bit to say hi, and I remember my first reaction to seeing him was to think, "there's no rafters for him to dangle from. what's he doing here?"

First of all after having the whole bands attention my exact words were please wait till I'm off the stage before you play, thank you. Then two seconds after I said that the bands starts playing again and symbols were being smashed in my ear as I am putting the mic's on the drum kit. Then I became Mr. Douche and called you guys assholes. So then your smart ass guitar player with his smart ass remarks pissed me off and I warned you about pissing me off. You will see what I mean soon enough. Secondly, you did intentionally knock the monitor off the house speaker and yes it did land on the snake and caused damage. I suggest you look up property damage laws and btw thanks for reminding me to look at the security cameras which are real and do record. Third, if you were sound techs, you would know not to play while your shit is being mic'd and you would know the squealing from the guitars in between songs is not a pleasant sound. Again, music venues are not day care centers if you can't play nice then don't play at all. It's a shame that bands like you ruin it for the bands that have the talent to play metal which uses rythm, dynamics and melody. The end. Have a nice day. Your friendly sound guy Derek aka The Bird/Douche
post by Lamp nli at Dec 8,2010 6:26pm
I'm not getting involed in the Hivesmasher/sound guy argument, but talent to play metal which uses rhythm, dynamics, and melody? I'd say Hivesmasher had the most technical proficiency at this show easily and they're pretty damn good at making their noise. Not everyone wants to play something more formal.
post by W3 nli at Dec 8,2010 6:33pm
I'd go further to say the gentlemen in Hivesmasher are some of the best musicians in New England so go suck a dirty bag of eggs outta post gangbanged trannies asshole faggot.
You threaten physically then threaten legally? Good work Matlock!

I will kick your fucking ass with this lawsuit
post by The Bird at Dec 8,2010 10:14pm
lawsuit who said anything about a lawsuit i dont own the equipment that was damaged so its not up to me its in the owners hands now and the only one that's threatening physically is the kid that thinks he is a dentist anyway im done here you guys are boring me and ive done my damage to my satisfaction also you guys are doing pretty good digging ditches on your own......... get a life!!!!!!

I never heard you say a word about being quiet while you were up on the stage, until you yelled at us. I'm not saying you didn't say those things, I just didn't personally hear it. Maybe that's because I had earplugs in, because I know from personal experience that every time a band gets on a stage in front of their equipment, they're probably going to check levels, sounds, and test their equipment. Not so much at the 750 or 2000 seat venues I work in, because we're doing a full sound check before doors, but since we're not afforded that luxury when playing a small club you've got to assume we're going to be making some noise. Deal with it.
As for my smart ass guitar player with his smart ass remarks--maybe if you didn't call the lot of us assholes, or just left your shitty attitude somewhere else when you came to the stage in the first place, he wouldn't have had any smart ass remarks for you. Kindness goes a long way pal. You gotta realize that before the set we didn't know you from a hole in the wall, and you somehow managed turn six otherwise very friendly people against you in under 30 seconds of interaction. What's wrong with the picture here?
I, personally, was nothing but kind to you at first, and actually felt some sympathy for you early on. I know bands can be annoying sometimes, and we were as frustrated as you were that things were moving incredibly slow during the rest of the show. You fail to mention at any point during your incoherent tirade that after the show I was helping you break down the drum mics, when I could have just hovered, got another drink, or "smashed a symbol in your ear." After doing so, with none of my other band members anywhere near us, you decided to start throwing my stuff around. I don't know what pissed me off more--the audacity to do that in the first place, or the fact that you did so after I helped you out.
I also never threatened you with anything, nor did I claim to be a D.D.S. I simply said that your actions under different circumstances with different people may have caused a physical conflict. I also did offer to make sure you left with a smile, and if we were gonna remove teeth, that wouldn't quite be possible.
In the end, YOU'RE the one that is on the clock and responsible for keeping your cool. It doesn't matter if we took a shit on top of your snake and pissed in the direct outs on the console, you've got to be a little bit more mature while you're working. If the problem is too big for you to handle like an adult, then ask someone else at the venue to handle it for you.
Like I said before, if there's any sort of problem that still needs to be resolved, you've got our contact info.
Apparently word is being spread to venues/promoters that we went in and trashed the place--I just got a voicemail to that affect from an area promoter who's name I won't divulge.
Anyway, can't repeat enough, if there are any problems email us and we'll get the record set straight.

Look guys we were both asses so I don’t need an apology but Chris deserves one he is a nice guy who works hard during the day and runs a club at night, he was off that night and doesn’t need phone calls about his club when he is trying enjoy life and his family. All I ask is to get a hold of him he is very understanding and he’s not out to get you maybe he will even let you off the hook and when I receive word from him I can easily repair the damage I caused you.
i tried to talk to steve last night but he wasnt doing the sound for MT and i dont have his phone number. ill shoot him an email to try to put in a good word for you guys though. shitty situation is shitty.
no im not trying to stir up shit or get bands kicked off shows but i have a few smiple rules if you cant follow i get grumpy and if you dont like it you can post all you want that i suck or what ever, but when things get damaged of course i gonna warn my friends. steve is a long time family friend and i have many friends on the music scene i just gave them a heads up i didnt tell them to kick you off any shows equipment is expesive and if venues let bands get away with these things then they would go out of buissness and we wouldn't have places to play i dont understand why you make it difficult im sorry things work that way
I wasn't at this show and am not involved with any happenings, but don't you think it would have been a lot easier, smarter and more professional to talk to the band after their set to address damages? I can see where each party is coming from and it seems it's stemming from an initial communications breakdown, made worse by someone who allows his temper to show while working. If things were addressed to Hivesmasher in a calm, professional manner, I can guarantee none of this shit would be a big deal to anyone.

^ that pretty much sums it up. i hadnt been reading this thread but i was curious as to why it kept getting bumped a week after the show was over haha. priceless
First band was a sloppy version of Propagahndi mixed with Lightnigb Bolt. Very entertaining.
David Carradine, weekend nachos mixed with ranchid.
I also want to add back when I saw this post, I clearly remember biting my tongue but man... these are NOT accurate descriptions of these bands at all!
