My roomate's sister lives in iceland. According to her, you get taxed up the ass, but it's totally different from getting taxed up the ass in the states because the government actually uses the tax money to give back to its citizens. College is mostly free, healthcare is mostly free, the quality of both is unsurpassed, infrastructure is top notch and the jobs in Iceland pay absurd amounts of money.

Don't be surprised if a new Hitler-like leader emerges in Europe soon. As people get desperate, they cling to anyone that promises change (sound familiar?). It would probably be attractive to many in Spain, Greece, etc. if a leader promised increased nationalism, a break from the EU, and tightened immigration laws that would result in citizens of that country having more job opportunities. Follow that with strengthening of the military, and you have the 4th Reich kids.
