Hey, want to talk about challenging NES games? How about A Boy And His Blob? The whole game is based on feeding jellybeans to this blob who is temporary transformed by them to accomplish different functions.
Has anyone in the history of humanity ever beaten that game?
It's fun and trippy as hell but unlike with the whole Sonic/Tails thing where Tails can die an infinite amount of times, if you completely lose the blob bouncing right behind you (picture a cross between Casper The Friendly Ghost and a smiling bowling pin), you die. Oh yeah, he can't fly either and there are tons of underground caves screen after screen deep. Enjoy.

Boy and his Blob was indeed hard. I beat it once as a kid. I have the gameboy one as well; it's even harder than the NES game, but different. Best thing about the game was the looping music throughout.
What about semi challenging but incredible two player games? My vote goes to Bubble Bobble.

Actually I always thought the original Metroid (lol @ iPhone auto spell changing metroid into "Negroid") was hard. Shit was long. I know people beat it... I never had the patience to beat the game until I was in highschool
Nah, was just stating a general statement towards the game back then. kind of the same sentiment with the people that hated Mario2. yea the games were different.. but they're still solid games.

definitely agreed. also its a shame wart never made another appearance. they brought back shy guys and bob-ombs. you think they'd bring back a huge lizard with a distaste for vegetables..

I have beat contra and superC without ever being hit by anything. My childhood was after school street football, contra, eat, do hw,then sleep.
zelda 2 isn't that hard if you can figure out the trick to beating shadow link.
Hardest game i've come across is castlevania 2 is impossible without some sort of guide. When i was ten how the fuck was i supposed to know that you have to take dracula's heart and kneel at the end of screen for 3 seconds so that a tornado takes you away?
Another hard game is solstice. I think i beat it only once without the extra-lives cheat.
right?! what kinda dick carries glass windows accross streets.... just park the van with the glass on the SAME SIDE OF THE ROAD that you're going. sheesh.

i love sky shark but it does get ridiculous in later levels..and zelda 2 kicks ass but i def used a walkthru to beat it. First ninja turtle is tuff to beat....my fav sports game: tecmo bowl.
"dear whore Ashley,
I haven't seen you in 7 years, but I need my fucking Kirby game back, you bitch. That game was valued more than our brief relationship, so fuck you and give me Kirby game back or GTFO.

nothing better than yourself and 3 friends all taking on TMNT the arcade game at funspot and laying the smack down....game takes like 15 mins for 4 people playing. Same with golden axe II...3 people at once and the game is beat...

What I'd KILL to play again is the 6-player X-Men arcade.

Amarok, fuck... Yes! I was gonna tak about that earlier but was on my phone at work. Was that store where you could buy the merlin shit?
I think so, it had excalibur too I think and a bunch of other sweet upgrades. Once you bought a couple of them you could kill most guys in like on hit.
