http://bronzeagebrew.blogspot.com

i visited about 20 breweries/brewpubs across the U.S. on the tour I just returned from and did my best to write concise reviews about them. I'm still compiling everything and writing stuff up so be sure to continue to follow it.

I don't but I'll be sure to go back and check it out pretty often. The Big Cypress Brown sounds like something I would enjoy very much.

my dick just fell off

toggletoggle post by alexc  at Aug 1,2010 8:58pm
if you can get the big cypress brown, FUCKING GET IT. I don't know how you would except to call them and ask them to ship you a growler

Sweet. I'll check it out later.
I was drinking a beer from the Czech Republic last night- wasn't too bad. Name escapes me at the moment.

I'm big on Goose Island brew and Troegs right now. Trying their catalogue.
Also had a Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA the other night. Never gets old.

only gansett is real, khed.

toggletoggle post by remotekilgore at Aug 3,2010 11:42am
Troegs wheat and doppelbock rule. Try the goose island bourbon county. It's tought to finish a glass on anything but a cold night.

Southern Tier is by far my favorite brewery.. very consistent, solid beers. Only offering I haven't been into is their Imperial Creme Brulee Milk Stout (and only because sweet dessert beers aren't my thing.) I highly recommend the Unearthly IPA (both regular and the Oak aged), Back Burner Barlywine and all three of the limited Cuvee series.

My favorite beer of all time is Stone's Russian Imperial Stout. Every spring I buy two cases of the 22oz and crack one open every couple of weeks.. a high drinkability with this beer but at 10.5% ABV and 90 IBU's you're already well on your way to a good buzz.

Southern Tier is indeed awesome.

Next time I visit my parents I should visit the actual brewery complex since it's only two hours away.. go for the beer, stay for the impending hangover.

yeah this. The Russian stouts win. My personal fave is the Old Rasputin.

me and Old Rasputin have had some delightful times, and some hard times.

The old bastard kicks hard, sometimes.

i cannot get into the 120 minute. it's way too sweet. the 60 minute is perfect.

i had the Sherwood Forest IPA the other day, not too bad. it was more palatable than Harpoon.

a new brewery opened in maine and they have katahdin themed beers... stoked to check them out sometime... a road trip may be in order

toggletoggle post by severnli at Feb 18,2011 11:57am
Dogfishhead 60 minutes are my favorite.

DFH 120 Minute are one of my favorite beers. Absolutely punishing on the liver.

I still cannot get into Old Rasputin. I say, leave the IPA out of my stout. Not my favorite style.

My new favorite beer is Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. What a fucking beer. So much depth and ohhh that cask flavor.

Also one of my favorites. I shared this with Yeti and ValkyrieScreams on a hike once. It wasn't the best beer for a hike, but was delicious nonetheless.

i disagree, sitting in the sun on the edge of a lake in the middle of the woods sipping Bourbon County was pretty epic.

THIS. My all time favorite is their Oatmeal Stout.

For Russian Imperial, I would have to go with the Old Rasputin.

Either way, three drunken cheers for GOOD, very drinkable, high ABV beers.
