I'm looking to swap out a licensed Floyd Rose for an original Floyd Rose. I already have the bridge, just need to know who is trustworthy for this type of work. I live in Peabody, so north shore is preferred, but I'm willing to travel.

If you were still in the awesome town of Plympton, I'd recommend the Guitar Doctor.

It isn't just a drop-in replacement?

toggletoggle post by m nli at Jul 14,2010 3:29pm
If it is, I'll do it for you. FO' FREE

I have no clue if it's just a drop-in. I've never really learned much about about replacing anything on guitars, so I'm the wrong person to ask.

Jim, where's the Guitar Doctor? I periodically head down to the south shore so it's not a problem depending where it is and how long it'd take.

I've heard good things; I've never gone myself. I do know however, that he redid my fathers old gretsch from the 60s and had it for 5 months, so make sure to call and check up on it. this was like 15 years ago so I don't know.. people say he's great.

Mouridian Guitars in Winchester, MA. It's a father/son shop and they are excellent with service and really cool people to boot. They have a lot of work, but they'll tell you up front when it will be ready.

Any dentist is fine.

What guitar is it for? I forget what guitar you have. Also what model FR do you have? I read a bit and depending on what you have, the sustain block may or may not stick out the back of the guitar. Like I said, I'll do it for you for free if it doesn't involve any routing or cutting.

I just bought Dave Davidson's Mockingbird. Just talked to Eliot and he's going to be taking care of this for me.
