I don't have the money for it, but I really want one... what is the best one?

toggletoggle post by quintessence  at Jun 10,2010 10:01pm
I have a Sharp 48" that is awesome 1080p. I dunno what else to suggest. Samsung is good I hear and LG

toggletoggle post by RustyPS  at Jun 10,2010 10:17pm
Samsungs are the best I've seen

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Jun 10,2010 11:12pm
You could always steal one, or just max out a credit card like a real man.

toggletoggle post by quintessence  at Jun 11,2010 12:23am
rentacenter and pay the minimum like a real upstanding man.

We have a 72" Mitsu Rear-Pro 1080p. Thing is the nuts.

GO BIG OR GO HOME.

toggletoggle post by zenerik nli at Jun 11,2010 7:56am
Eh, my 24" screen has the same resolution. Big 1080p screens looks like shit because all the pixels are HUGE. I would wait until they upgrade to 2160p before buying a screen that size.

toggletoggle post by zenerik nli at Jun 11,2010 8:01am
Or better yet. That's real HD for screens that are 70" or greater, IMO.

1440p is the next standard coming out. 1080p is too much resolusion already.

also, @zero, i have a rear pro 48" and it takes up too much room.

My roommate has a 50" Samsung DLP (720) and it's the balls.

A weeee bit too big for video games, but looks great otherwise.

Summary: Go Samsung and fap to HD razor-bump porn.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 11,2010 9:39am
I don't want DLP. I want the thinnest TV I can get to mount on the wall.

1080p is way too little. There were CRT monitors at least 12, probably more, years ago that were 19" and 1600 x 1200.

you are talking computer resolutions not TV resolutions. completely different things. On a computer, unless you are a dipshit mac user using that shitty OS that forces you to use one program at a time, you don't view one thing at a time. You view multiple things at one time. With a TV, you view one thing at one time and that's why 1080 is prefect. Have you seen the 1440p demos or watch SNL in HD? IRL you don't see 1080p of a person's face for a reason. that much detail of a human face is disgusting.
1440p just done at 60fps.

The resolution looks fine on our TV, but yes, it is huge but the way our living room is set up, it fits.

In B4 pointless tech specs on resolution of every TV out there.

A 1080p on a big screen doesn't look very good unless the viewer is sitting at a great distance. In which case, you might as well just get a smaller screen and sit closer.

there is a science to the size of the TV to the room. carina has a 52" samsung and it looks better than real life.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 11,2010 10:24am
I was trying to find the 30 rock bit on this, but couldn't see it on youtube.

If you watch SNL in 1080p... ugh... it's so tough to watch seth meyers... the sides of his eyes are cracking.

Are you allowed to watch Carina's TV, or is that in the "NO DICKS" zone?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 11,2010 10:42am
clearly a no dicks zone. She got it Jan 2009 and since then, I played assassins creed II on it twice, watched 2 or 3 movies, and that's about it. Whenever I change the channel from whatever shitty cooking, reality, or 2.5 men show they are watching, it gets changed back fast.

You could just mount it in a bed like everyone else.

Samsung TV's always look the best to me.

I'd get one of their LED tv's, awesome picture and so thin.

Sharp and Samsung make the best T.V.'s hand's down.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 12,2010 12:48am
then so does sony since samsung and sony use the same exact parts except for sony's brain components

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Jun 12,2010 12:49am
Sony Tv's break easily. Fact.

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Jun 12,2010 12:49am
then why do samsungs look better than sony's when I'm looking at tv's in stores?

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Jun 12,2010 12:50am
Sony and Samsung are not the same.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 12,2010 12:56am
carina has a samsung. we went and the guy showed us the same exact screen on the samgsung and the sony. the only difference being that the sonys used their own brain unit.
