dysrhthmia was excellent. the sound isnt loud, it's perfect. like listening to them on you home stereo at a comfortable level.

intronaut is a completely different band since void and i havent listened to anything else. i also couldnt really hear the vocals at all.

Couldn't disagree more, oh skinnier furrier version of Blue - I think they were the only band that didn't sound like absolute moosh at stage volumes. I spent the whole intronaut set right behind you, and preppy stoner man's guitar was non-existant. I heard every note of every solo for Cynic, although I will admit that Tymon's guitar was far heavier and more prominent.

Blue, what the fuck do these guys use? I couldn't see onstage what was in their racks. I saw the controller tymon was using was labeled something like VK-88.

I got video of the acoustic "integral birth", and the full of "Unknown Guest", but alas both sound like utter and indistinguishable SHIT.

This show was amazing.

Going into it I had high hopes but also I will freely admit that I had not given enough chances to Cynic in my life and as many times as I tried to listen to Focus, I still didn't really "get it."

But boy oh boy i "got it" last night. that was incredible and now i realize what everyone is crazy about.

i will also admit that i was more of an Aeon Spoke fan beforehand and the acoustic version of Integral Birth was a big highlight for me. I like his non-processed vocals a lot.

Also, I was excited because my girlfriend, who is a huge Cynic fan, got to be a fan girl and I was happy to use my connections with Dysrhythmia to introduce her to Paul Masvidal and see her get all nervous.

I laughed and then i met him and immediate became a socially awkward starstruck idiot.

Which proves that you should never take me anywhere near musicians I like.

It was awesome seeing Chris and the wife out a night off from being awesome parents, seeing Wren, Dana, Mike and i am sure there were a ton of other RTTP people there who i have never met but it was a great crowd!

my favorite part of the night would be tied between Metal Yoga and when Paul said "We just released an EP" and the kid near me screamed back "YEAH YOU DID!"

Another great moment, courtesey of the the smelly fucking foreign guys behind me: When the band started coming out onstage they were babbling to each other in german/euro/spanish/whateverthefuck. As the bald, midget, foreign bassist guy (who looks absolutely NOTHING like sean malone, nor does his instrument even look similar) they started getting all giddy, and the little guy kept yelling "look! Look! It's Sean Malone. SEAN MALONE!". After Veil of Maya, the guy yelled it at the top of his lungs "SEAAAAN MALOOOONE!". I felt sooooo bad for the bassist. I forget his name, I think it's "Not-Sean-Malone"
