Hello return to the pit,

We are looking for a guitar player. Putting together a death metal band of some sort. Here is our previous band: www.goryhole.com. after many failed attempts to find a guitarist on craigslist, we've come up with a list of minimal requirements:

A functional guitar, 7 strings prefered but 6 works
The ability to play technical death metal
A loud rig, half stack minimum
The ability to get yourself from wherever you live to our spot in Allston 2-3x a week
Lots of riffs and overall song writing abilities

Sorry if the ad is a bit dry, they are playing roadhouse riffs in here. Bass player says guitarist must have versitility. Thanks for the help dude.

Text or call me Greg 857.919.4460 email warp9.999@gmail.com thanks!

Give me samples of fat women masturbating and I have a deal. I am the best guitar player east of the mississippi

I have been looking for a technical death metal guitarist for Yildun for over a year. Shit sucks.

I'm rather shocked at guitars being so in-demand. It makes no sense...I always figured us guitarists were a twelve for ten cents.

toggletoggle post by josh_hates_you  at May 14,2010 1:10am
guitar players are a dime a dozen. guitar players that can actually write a song.....not so much. if i had a dollar for every dickbag i played with that could write 5 riffs but not one song......and since ego's happen guitar players dont wann play other peoples stuff.

Maybe where you shop.

I agree with Josh. Big differnce between musicians and composers.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at May 14,2010 8:26am
yeah. We (Boarcorpse) have been looking for a 2nd guitarist for some time now. About a year and a half to be exact. We seem to meet plenty of guitar players, even dudes who come up after shows and say they wanna try out. Some even schedule time to come to and play, and then they pull a no call, no show. (fucking bullshit) It's depressing.

toggletoggle post by ark at May 14,2010 8:29am
drummers are the only part of the band that matters anyway.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at May 14,2010 8:35am

i'm with you here. there are way more guitarists out there than drummers/bassists/vocalists, but the number of quality guitarists is low.

toggletoggle post by gorypole at May 14,2010 9:39am
lol is that Jim? hey man you can't have a second guitar player until we find our first one! The untombed guys were telling me they too are looking for a second guitarist, thats total bullshit nobody gets a second one during this Great Guitarist Shortage Of 2010!!!

anyway, I came back here to clarify that no, we are not looking for a guitarist to play goryhole songs. we are looking for a guitarist for a new project. we just happen to be the vocals drums and bass from that band.

And to conclude, I leave you this:
AWESOME

Someone start a band that practices in plymouth like once a week. All old people, or younger kids with hot moms, either is fine. Then I might come play some geeetar for you.

toggletoggle post by gorypole at May 23,2010 5:41pm
Giving this ad a bump.

I will take this opportunity to stress that having the ability to show up is a key characteristic in the guitar player we are looking for.

Thanks!

toggletoggle post by sever at May 23,2010 7:34pm
I'd love to play geetar for a DM band but I live too far away from all of you homos to be able to reliably get to a practice multiple times a week.

Yildun has been stood up countless times by flakers who never show up when they say they will. Shit gets old.

Proteus guy no showed us three times. Others have shown up hardly able to play their instrument and some have shown up without the real essential gear (like an AMP). I'm really starting to get why YildunDave is so pessimistic.

myspace.com/goryhole - these drums, bass and vocals need a guitarist! not replacing the goryhole guitar player, starting a new band. warp9.999@gmail.com lets do it!!!

Its tough man, I feel your pain.

We've done some shows as a 3-piece (drums/guitar/vox) but I write material specifically for two guitars, and the lack of a bassist is never good for technical metal. Only once have we tried someone who could consistently play like a pro, and he couldn't commit due to scheduling issues.

toggletoggle post by bloblovesmusic at Jun 2,2010 1:43pm
dude, you should have a second bassist act as the guitarist! You guys could totally pull it off. Would be different and cool!

toggletoggle post by ThorgWantEat at Jun 2,2010 4:53pm edited Jun 2,2010 4:57pm
In terms of your issue, most want to play core so there is no one around. I could play stuff fine and actually am compulsive about showing up but I don't like American DM at all. Finally, the main issue is this is New England and the USA.
