Looks like another Taiwanese programmer's going to be tortured to the point of "suicide"

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 19,2010 2:19pm
I saw pictures of it last night. I want to know what processor it's got.

toggletoggle post by DreadKill  at Apr 19,2010 2:25pm
i'm getting it. my iphone 3g's battery is shitting the bed and will be 2 years old in september.

toggletoggle post by zyklon at Apr 19,2010 2:25pm
It's supposed to have an A4 which runs at 1GHz

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 19,2010 2:28pm
really? that's the same processor in the iPad. I figured they would have an A4, but underclock it to 600-700Mhz so that they can same battery life.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 19,2010 2:29pm
"may include a member of the A4-family CPU/system on a chip, a high resolution 960×640 display, a front facing camera, and a new version of the iPhone OS that supports multitasking by third party applications."

toggletoggle post by DreadKill  at Apr 19,2010 2:31pm
this phone is as gay as the throat of winter

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Apr 19,2010 4:18pm
iphone 4g has more features than the ipad? fun!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 22,2010 11:18am

"This phone's unmarked processor was so tightly wrapped in metal, it was impossible to unravel without destroying it."

I still think it will be a cycled down A4.

I hope not. Are you gonna switch to AT&T rev?

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Apr 22,2010 2:36pm
iPhone did it first but nearly everyone else has done it better. It changed the whole landscape when it came out but really it's so far behind that they might as well start over.

AT&T sucks dick, can't believe Apple's contract with them has been for so long.

From what I understand the Android phones have been sweeping the market. I got a Palm Pre and it's great, does everything the iPhone can do save for a few things which they are solving with software updates and utilizing the current hardware.

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Apr 22,2010 5:45pm
I don't have any problems with AT&T and I'm sure just as many people have problems with Verizon in some areas. I had Verizon DSL for a semester of my college years and it was the worst shit ever.

atts been ok for me... although i dont get reception in my basement which is teh gay but neither does verizon. i rikey the iphone tho

I feel like you'd like WebOS or Android more. Both are open and the companies that make them encourage people to hack them. You'd be a star at it.

ive used the droid its pretty damn good i just like the software on the iphone better atm

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Apr 22,2010 6:53pm
You can make any of the major phones act / look like the iPhone. I had a windows mobile phone for a while and it had something called iPhony or something that was free. Aside from the visual aspect of things, they make either the exact same or matching programs for the other phones.

Also the Nexus or whatever has a 1ghz processor.

I would not increase my monthly by $30 to not have a tkeyboard.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 22,2010 6:56pm
I'm waiting for a phone like the droid incredible to come out on sprint with a keyboard.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Apr 22,2010 6:57pm

Palm uses "cloud" technology to store all your downloaded approved apps, phone #s, contact info, etc etc so when you get a new phone, it all loads back up. It also synchs with Google Calendar so you retain your calendar events and can access them online. It synchs with gmail and other mail servers so you can have your mail at all times.

Use a Google Voice number and or some other forwarding service and if your phone breaks, you just go online and change where your number is forward to and view all your events, contacts, etc online.

btw i keep hearing the new iphone will have a cdma version for you verizon people

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Apr 22,2010 7:02pm
if i were to break my phone i have to wait till the store can get me a new one... this is not ok for me i need to be able to fix it.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 22,2010 7:19pm
The palm pre is great, but the screen resolution is too small for me.

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Apr 22,2010 7:55pm
The resolution is the same as the iPhone. I even download the same wallpapers to use.

The screen size is smaller, though.

I currently have an iphone. Will most likely be switching to droid when my contract is up this summer. Iphone is a good device but the software is too restricted and apple really turned me away with their app store policies.

This comes out the end of this month but I'll wait to see what's out when my contract is up.

also android os booting on an iphone.

and?
my HTC touch pro did: 480x640
my HTC touch pro2 and the droid does 480x800

toggletoggle post by aaron_michael  at Apr 23,2010 8:26am
I had the G1 droid for a while, but the bulk/weight of it, and the small(er) screen size bothered me. I would have gotten the MyTouch, but again, due to the screen and my clumsy as fuck typing, sending work emails would have been a pain in the ass.

The iPhone I have has a couple of issues that I've been working out as I get used to it, but it's not as care-free as the droids.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 23,2010 8:30am
hm... I thought that the iPhone, driod, and palm pre all had the same 550MHz processor. weird.

Nah.

The Droid Incredible looks to be the leader of the pack, though. I am not a big fan of the Android OS from what I've experienced, but the Incredible looks to have everything anyone could want.

Really liking the WebOS structure right now. It's super geared towards multitasking.

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Apr 23,2010 8:34am
Oh also as far as android phones I guess the Nexus has 1 gHz vs the Droid's 550MHz

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 23,2010 8:42am
nick TOS, the Driod != Driod Incredible. they are 2 separate phones. The incredible would be the phone I would get if it had a keyboard.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 23,2010 8:43am
the driod has a 550mhz processor.
the Droid Incredible is a 1GHz snapdragon that I think is the same exact one as the nexus one.
