1349 Comment on Recording New Album and Working with Tom G. Warrior
North American Pre-order and New Myspace Layout Launched

Norway's 1349's upcoming fifth full length, "Demonoir," due out April 27th in North America via Prosthetic Records, was recorded at Studio Nyhagen, deep in the woods in Norway with Tom G. Warrior (Hellhammer, Celtic Frost), who showed the greatest respect for the task and played a key role as motivator and catalyst. His technical role of the recording was that of a co-producer, but far more important was his presence and understanding of what a challenging project DEMONOIR was.

Ravn Comments:
"In hindsight, it is our belief that Tom was the missing piece of the puzzle, adding that element of heritage we needed. He represented the direct link to the Creators! We also need to mention three other contributors; Ronnie leTekrö - one of the most acclaimed guitarists on the globe, wrenched his soul inside out as he recorded one of the leads for "Psalm 7:77"; a truly breathtaking experience. We had some excellent, wicked grand piano play carried out by Canadian pianist Tony Caputo. And then there was Thorbjørn Benjaminsen of Hornorkesteret that recorded some spine chilling themes with his stringed reindeer horns, adding a touch of natural grimness to the electric inferno."

Prosthetic Records has launched the pre-order for the North American versions of the album; a digipack CD and a limited edition (only 666 made) 12" picture disc LP. The CD and LP can be purchased individually or together, or in a bundle with a T shirt. Pre-order yours now at THE PROSTHETIC WEBSTORE.

Please check out the brand new design on 1349\'s Myspace profile. It looks grimmer than ever before.

There you also will find the track "Atomic Chapel" from the upcoming album "Demonoir". http://www.myspace.com/1349official

"Demonoir" is without a shadow of a doubt 1349's darkest, most sinister and brutal work to date, and in this case it comes to mean that the band has gone from the utterly extreme to the genre-expanding and mindboggling. Black Metal cannot, and will never be the same.

For "Demonoir," 1349 decided to suck out the fiercest and most potent energies from every single member and surroundings, channeling it into songs that are pulsating with uncanny atmospheres, rawness and nerve shattering intensity. The whole process of getting the material on record was like one long, exhausting black magic summoning that could not be allowed to go wrong.

if this fails, we'll all be able to take this out of context

Always struck me as a third tier band. Liberation was pretty cool tho

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Mar 29,2010 4:02pm
5th tier perhaps

They weren't bad one time I saw them. But I also got kicked out of marks and missed half their set. Apparently tripping on someones foot constitutes as being "drunk"

haha, saw them downstairs at the palladium. they played in the dark which felt strange on that stage...and of course the sound was a mess

this band bores the shit out of me. the saving grace is that Frost is the blast master.
